Holyjoe hasn't told us what the official date for the big switch off is, but it has been a pleasure and a privilege to share this site with you all over the years. It will be missed. Hope to see some of you on Facebook/reddit. :smt113

Once Holyjoe tells us when the plug is being pulled, let's follow up with the suggestions. Right now loving the nostalgia here, though...

He mentioned it will be mid-October. It's possible he won't be given an exact date. I wouldn't be surprised if the original post in this thread is his last post on here.

Anyone want to create a Facebook group or Reddit thingy?

Shame we couldnt get to the ene of the current season...although not sure i could tolerate endless threads and leg-pulling about the demise of Seoul should things get any worse.

It would be a rather fitting send off if they got relegated in the final ROKfootball season.

Hi everyone,
I started a Facebook page.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/1879647298751449/

I understand that Facebook is not everyone's cup of tea, and completely understand that. But let's see how it goes (the group is open at the moment but feel free to make any comments you wish regarding its setup). Feel free to invite anyone you wish.

I don't have a reddit account (https://www.reddit.com/) but if someone does, please feel free to setup something there as well (I will be happy to join) and let's see which version develops organically into the stronger of the two. We can then focus on that one.
Cheers, nzfooty

Joined the Facebook group; Not a big reddit user but I'd follow that too if people migrate there. Sad to see this place's demise - I dont post much (Dont think I ever exceeded the rank of 'Kim Byung-ji's hairdresser' :-P ) but I quite often check back here to see the latest thrilling goings-on in the Korean lower leagues, and it was an absolute lifeline for following Korean footy up until the improved English-language coverage elsewhere the last couple of years. Thanks for the memories. And the bus porn, that was great too. :smt117
This season I will be mostly supporting :
KLClassic - Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors / KLChallenge & National League - Anyone & Everyone / K3 League - Jeonju Citizen

Great to see some people join in.

A question for Holyjoe (or anyone else who might know). Will Rokfootball's content disappear (i.e. will this become a dead link) or will the forum remain searchable (by that I don't mean by using the assistance of sites as the Wayback Machine(http://www.wayback.com/)).

There is some quality information on these pages, especially regarding the lower levels in Korea. Would be a pity to lose it.

Looks like someone has found a way to create a static archive of a phpBB forum, but it would have to be hosted somewhere...

Any idea how big the data is for the entire forum, HolyJoe? And what the monthly traffic (MB or GB) is these days?

A wonderful board and a great experience being on here. Met loads of people through it and had some great times! Thanks for everything. Setting up the FB group was a good idea.

Thank you for having me! It's been a great place to get my fill, and as always I've appreciated the banter - often as a lurker, and so rarely as a poster. My favourites have always been the jersey threads, and the team slogans for their hilarity.

Good luck moving forward, and thanks for keeping the board alive for so long!

Hello chaps!

Massively saddened to hear from eujin about the the end being nigh. Without meaning to get too misty eyed, this forum was a big part of my life for ages; from meeting folk I'd later meet a bit more properly watching games to just learning all sorts of stuff about the football I was desperate to know as much as possible about - of course around 95% of this useful stuff was from HJ.

I should really have been more proactive after leaving the peninsula (am rubbish at following football I'm not able to go along and watch) but hope the chaps and chapesses who want to get into the footer once they arrive in Korea are able to feel as welcomed and informed as I did for bloody loads of years on here.

Cheers you lot, hope you're all well! :smt109
