Lying in bed listening to bbc comm through the net now. I have it live on tv but am trying to nod off listening too it. I don't have a horse in this race, just hoping for a tight finish.

Whisper it very quietly, but the British are starting to clean up. The Ashes, the Tour de France, Wimbledon...

That's the 3rd ranked test nation beating the 4th ranked test nation. + Chris Froome the Kenyan born South African. When he made his Tour de France debut in 2008 was riding for a South African team under a Kenyan flag.

It's all very modern Britain.

Oh I get it. When the English win stuff they're English. When the Scots win stuff they're British.

Good to know.

That would be racist.

Out of the 32 in the current AB squad I believe all were born in NZ 8) EDIT: went through and checked. It's 30. 2 (Ben Franks and Tawera Kerr-Barlow) were born in Melbourne but grew up in NZ.

I assume Stephen Jones has STFU in recent seasons.

The current England team has 9 foreign born players. That doesn't bother me in the slightest because in this day and age there's so much migration that it's a fact of life. Unless it's out and out poaching by national bodies which I don't think there is a lot of in rugby. Eligibility rules are quite strict.

What really, really, really fucks me off is that the NZRU won't go and play test matches in the Pacific Islands. Ever. Sure they aren't going to make much if any money out of it but FFS they deserve it purely on the quality of their rugby. It would actually be a decent test match or two against tricky opposition on their soil as opposed to playing under strength PI teams in NZ who we flog by 60+ points. But I live in a fantasy land. $$$'s are the bottom line.

Meanwhile, back on topic.
