Urgh. A perfect case in point. The 2nd photo was taken at half time last night. When we were no 1. That didn't last long.

It's a word that would bring people's attention like.. "Ah, even foreigners..?" blah blah.
Yeah, even when I wrote that I though like 'oh, too much 외국인 word!' but I just want to have a interview with some K-League fan who have differ view from typical way.

Have had another random late night phonecall from a Korean TV channel. KBS this time. Initial thoughts were, great experience before, but can't really be arsed to do it again, but then just started wondering how far I could push it. Got a free trip up to Suwon last time, match, meal out and a hotel. Any ideas, gentlemen?

Early in my own thought process, but was thinking of trying to get them to cough up for a supporters coach to Chungju. See if we could take a group of BTC fans up for the last game of the season. That would be amusing. Plus, I'd have the added bonus of winning my sportsman's bet with Cyclops who said it wasn't possible in the National League. I seem to remember him saying if I could arrange it, he would travel down to Busan to come to the match as well! ;-)

Any other inspiration from the amazing creative members of the board would be greatly appreciated!

If you can convince them to bus you and your students to Namhae for that tournament then you would be an extremely popular teacher and no doubt your celebrity status in Korea would be further enhanced, plus Namhae's really nice! That would get my vote.

My sieve-like memory means I'd completely forgotton about that bet, and I'm still a bit cloudy on the exact details although I do seem to remember inserting a clause specifying that if KBS help you then I win.

A late season trip to Busan or an away game wouldn't be out of the question. Normally I would get a KTX but the KBS luxury helicopter will be acceptable this time.

Given up on Namhae as a school trip mate. Aside from the cost, the coach company estimated at it being 3 hour drive each way, which is just too long for such a short visit with that many kids. Also, there'll be nobody else there, so the attendance data will be much more meaningful at a home game what with the bumper crowds we get at the Gudeok these days.

I wrote to them this afternoon asking what their budget is and suggesting booking one of those noribang coaches for Chungju on the 6th November. I've painted a nice picture for them of a mix of foreigners and locals on the party bus to Chungju. I'm hoping they'll see the magic of it (lol) and sign up. Then I'll sting them with the booze bill!

Anyone know who these jokers are?

This link about sports photography in Korea is also quite interesting. Getting a press pass to games doesn't sound hard.

I've spotted myself on the Daejeon website in the Fan Photo section. The trip down to see Suwon's win there was one of the wettest days i've stupidly been out in since i got here a year ago

I hadn't seen this article before, the movers and shakers on this forum too busy to post it no doubt. Nice to see James Maas has adopted the Korean custom of vastly overestimating attendances. :albino:

Blimey, I hadn't seen that article before either- and I count at least three forum members on board.

Though to be fair, if we didn't read it, who else would have done?

That has to be a mis-quote. I can't believe I would have described football as 'soccer'.

I was a little disturbed myself, when I read that. They really take the piss sometimes, these journalists. Have you taken legal advice?

:D I was tempted, but I reckon I owe him one for not including a photo of me. I'll let it go this time.

I was also disturbed to see someone in the prediction league describing themselves as "mathteacher". I hope the person in question is either a non-native English speaker or only teaching one type of maths.

Jesus H Christ. Was that me? I've obviously been surrounded by those of American influence too long. Does seem very out of character, although I did find myself telling the kids to throw the trash away the other day. Made sure I washed my mouth out immediately with a large dose of marmite. It hasn't happened since.
