Apparently this has been happening. The only reason I noticed was because Mamelodi Sundowns is the South African team I follow. So, when Google Cards showed me that they were playing Jeonbuk Motors my "Huh?!" reflex kicked in.

A qualifying game was played on the 8th more games on the 11th and the next games will be on the 14th and 15th.

This is going to hit the Brazilians (Sundowns) hard. The CAF Champions League, which they won a few weeks ago, already put them behind schedule in terms of league games. Poor bastards are already 4 games behind everyone else and their next two games have already been postponed. I see a some three game weeks in their future.

There is also a team called Real Madrid there. Apparently they are highly rated.

Columbia's Atletico Nacional had a game yesterday in their domestic league and a World Club Cup semi-final tomorrow. That's some handy scheduling right there. They lost the league match 4-0 at home in a Leicester City-esque effort. They're playing home-away-from-home side Kashima Antlers in Osaka where we'll probably see at least eleven changes to their starting line-up.

Kashima beat Atletico Nacional 3-0 to book their place in the final against Real Madrid. This is the best performance ever by a Japanese team and the first time an Asian team has made the final. I'm starting to run out of years for my prediction that a non UEFA/CONMEBOL team would win the cup within a decade, so I hope for snow, a bumpy pitch, the Yokohama fans get behind Kashima and do themselves proud. AGAIN...err never, and whatever the Spanish is for Fossa Dei Giganti!

Jeonbuk smacked Mamelodi 4-1 for fifth place just to make sure Otto knows which way round things are.

Kasima took Real Madrid to extra time, but ended up losing 4-2. Best performance ever by a non UEFA/CONMEBOL team. We're getting closer...

Considering I had a rather low opinion of South African before, if my opinion was turned then that means I think Korea is rather shit now :P

"The Sundowns billionaire owner revealed that he told the team he would give them the entire $5-million prize money (R65-million at the time) if they managed to win the Fifa Club World Cup in Japan last month."
