Dale Mulholland

Postby nzfooty » Thu Sep 10, 2015 5:52 pm

A chap by the name Dale Mulholland claims to have played in South Korea in the late 80s. I have attached a piece about him from a New Zealand publication called Soccer Express (from 1990 when his Locomotiv Moscow team toured New Zealand).

Apparently Jeff Yoo is the only American player to have played in the Korean K-League.

Does anyone know anything about Mulholland's time in South Korea? Or was he just catching a connecting flight here and thought he'd throw it in to pad his list?

He seems like the kind of chap who was determined to make a go of things in the most outlandish places possible, so it could well be that he touted himself round a few clubs in South Korea to see if he could do something that not many foreign players had done before. Good on him if that's what he tried, his name has definitely never appeared in any old K-League squads or match stats so he's never played any competitive K-League football.

Thanks for that. He does sound like a Lutz Pfannenstiel prototype.
