Hey I'm an English teacher and also a massive football fan - today in class we had a lesson all on Kim Bo-Kyung which everybody liked.

I thought I would share it with you! Enjoy. :D

Diolch!

Oh no wait a minute that's not right...

I hope it isn't true that one of the reasons he joined Cardiff is because they play in red. I really hope that's not true. They're called the Bluebirds for a reason and I hope he knows what that reason is.

I told my students that it was probably a joke. Do you think it was?

We did have a joke about Ki Seong-yong playing in blue when he joined Celtic viewtopic.php?p=19965#p19965 so hopefully it is something like that.

Well the owner did change to red to appeal to the Asian markets. :D

No harm to Kim but I really hope Cardiff lose every single game they play from now on. At least until Vincent Tan gets bored and chucks it anyway.

Some of Kim's fans outside the ground today. They're obviously struggling to understand the jokes page on the British Council website.

Off to Celtic? This three line article in the Daily Mail is the only mention of any possible interest from Celtic and the lack of quotes don't exactly suggest it's that genuine.

Celtic in talks with Cardiff over move for South Korea midfielder Kim Bo-Kyung
20 August 2014

Celtic are in talks with Cardiff City over a deal for South Korea international Kim Bo-Kyung.

The 24-year-old midfielder was a target for the Bhoys prior to joining Cardiff in 2012.

Bo-Kyung has made nearly 60 league appearances for the Bluebirds since signing from Cerezo Osaka two years ago.

at least the recent events have justified that why Tan had sacked Mackay

Were those the reasons though? If so fully justified.

Interesting thing is why his texts suddenly became public knowledge. I'm willing to bet that almost every football manager in the UK would have some stuff in his phone that he wouldn't want shared. As for Korea.... well God knows... when your Champions won't sign a foreign player it probably doesn't suggest all is well in that regard.

Yeah it's curious the messages and accusations of racism, sexism and homophobia never came to light during the whole "resign or be sacked" email thing, which makes me think Tan wasn't aware of this stuff back at the time. I would imagine they turned up all this stuff when building their defence for the unfair dismissal case that Mackay was bringing against them (it was all done on work phones and computers, was it not?), then probably told Mackay what they had found earlier this year when he dropped his compensation claim and publicly apologised.

Tan has played a blinder though, waiting until the last minute before Mackay gets a new job and then absolutely torpedo him. He loses bonus points for not waiting until Palace actually appointed him and he'd managed a game or two, dealing with the resultant shitstorm would have caused Palace no end of problems and would have been some measure of payback after all the wrangles between the two clubs last year.
