Koo Ja-cheol

Postby Suwonesque » Mon Dec 05, 2011 11:12 pm

The lad in Wolfsburg almost got his ass kicked :

The guy hitting Koo is believed to be Josué Anunciado de Oliveira,32, 10 year older senior player than Koo..

Anyone knows what the reason was?

He moved from Wolfsburg to another team (relegation-threatened, newly promoted) in Bundesliga on loan until the end of the season. Seems, it is not working for him in Bundesliga.

Got himself another goal today as his Augsburg continue to power away from the bottom. On the other side Chong Tese came on as a sub at the end but his Köln side sink deeper into trouble.

Another goal by Koo Ja-Cheol this weekend. He has scored now four times in 10 matches since joining Augsburg. Hopefully he can keep that up and secure himself a fixed spot when rejoining Wolfsburg this summer...

Read today that Koo has extended his loan deal with Augsburg for another year. They avoided relegation so he'll be playing top flight Bundesliga football next season even if he's not going back to Wolfsburg.

Tor für Koo!

He got his first goal back at Augsburg in their 3-1 loss to Hoffenheim. A simple headed tap in after the keeper palmed a cross into his path.

It does seem like there are a lot more Japanese players in the Bundesliga than Koreans these days. With Koo Ja-cheol, Ji Don-won and Hong Jeong-ho all in Augsburg, the Koreans are gathering at just one club now. At least the local Augsburg paper thinks things are going swimmingly (link in German) http://www.augsburger-allgemeine.de/sport/fc-augsburg/Der-FCA-und-seine-Suedkoreaner-Warum-das-so-gut-passt-id35602217.html
Während aber den japanischen Fußball-Profis Heerscharen von Reportern durch die ganze Welt folgen, ist südkoreanischer Besuch auf der Pressetribüne in Augsburg eher selten.
While armies of reporters follow the Japanese players throughout the whole world, South Korean visitors to the press box in Augsburg are rather rare.

Also bottom club Hannover picked up a point in Wolfsburg (goal assist by Kiyotake). A lot of empty seats in the executive boxes at Wolfsburg's VW Arena; I wonder where they've all gone?

The keeper actually deflected the cross Koo's way with his foot instead of palming it, but same difference.
Meanwhile, it was Hong Jeong-ho responsible for giving away the penalty that resulted in Hoffenheim scoring their second.

Koo's goal is about 3:30 in.

Right you are. Somehow I remembered it differently.

Koo scored another goal as Augsburg came from behind to beat Werder Bremen. A couple of wins in 2017 have moved them away from the danger zone.
