So no turning back now. Mrs is gone, job is gone, house is going up for sale, stuff is being disposed of and I am off to SEA on a football tour to end all football tours (or end me, either way)

Now I am in serious planning stages and already coming up against the fact that its really hard to work out in some of the smaller nations exactly what the hell is going on - even the AFC Cup seems to be a bit of a minefield of misinformation. But either way its happening in about 6 weeks or so.

Any of you lot got any ideas or suggestions of things to tick off the list on my travels?

So far I'm planning to go to a game in every ASEAN country if I can but also hoping to tick off the Philippines League 6 team home grounds as a starter.

Other plans:

1. Really keen to see if I can somehow get to a game in Pyeongyang - I notice there are 2 NK teams in the AFC Cup. Did anyone ever look into this

2. Going to stalk all the Korean footballers overseas that I can and see what I can get - already spotted an Ex-E-Land player in the Philippines leagues and there's loads of ex K-League players whose careers have dropped like stones kicking around.

Sounds like a blast. We did in the past look into the possibility of going to a match in Pyeongyang when it looked like they might play New Zealand. I don't think it is impossible. There are foreigners who go to the national team matches, and you might even find a tour group who could help out. I expect you will need an escort though, as you need an escort in most places in North Korea and they won't want you just mingling with the locals.

Pretty sure I posted about a footy tour to Pyongyang a couple of years ago. Probably 2015. I can never find anything searching here but you're welcome to search
