First Round
India 2-0, 0-0 Nepal
Timor-Leste 4-1, 1-0 Mongolia
Cambodia 3-0, 1-1 Macau
Taiwan 0-1, 2-0 Brunei

Presumably Sri Lanka are not worldbeaters themselves then?

Mongolia were officially the first team to be eliminated from the 2018 World Cup by Timor-Leste. Good work them!

Does that make them the AFC equivalent of Scotland then? We should give them a game, makes about as much sense as this proposed friendly with Qatar this summer.

Yemen through after a 0-0 draw with Pakistan...

This link to Wikipedia has a little about the seeding (and therefore the potential groups South Korea could end up in):

The draw for the second round will be held on 14 April 2015.

Wow...so you could have

SK
Vietnam
Maldives
Bhutan
Guam

How the fuck have they seeded this? Bhutan were shock qualifiers and get in Pot 4? You could have a group with 3 out of the bottom 6 of 40 teams by FIFA rankings.

Or you can get: SK, Saudi, Palestine and N Korea plus fucking Yemen or something.

Seeding seems to be one of the great unsolved challenges of international football. Certainly the first draw SteveW lists would throw up some interesting away days.

They're spinning this bloody draw out almost as long as FIFA do with their draws... Sepp must have been on the phone to tell them it's corporate policy.

They'll probably end up playing Syria in Iran or somewhere like that.

Group C looks like a lot of fun with some interesting match-ups. And the DPRK must have a decent shot at qualifying from their group despite being a 4th seed.

Looks like Group F just got easier as Indonesia have been turfed out of FIFA competitions for government interference.
