Articles from the Korean Central News Agency website regarding the North Korean football league in 2010.. full details are a bit sketchy but it's enough to get a fair picture of what's been going on.

North Korean Premier League First Round
February 20 - March 22

Final Standings (Mens competition, 9 teams in total)

Pyongyang, March 1 (KCNA) -- The first round of the premier league is going on at Kim Il Sung Stadium in Pyongyang from February 20.

Participating in the soccer matches, which will continue till March 22, are nine male and eight female teams that scored good results in total standings of local tournaments held last year.

This year's local tournaments are drawing attention of soccer experts and fans as they are held in a round robin to correctly assess the competence of every team.

The Ministry of Light Industry Sports Group and the April 25 Sports Group won the male and female soccer matches respectively in the national championships last year.

The Rimyongsu, Mangyongbong and Sobaeksu teams took the first three places respectively in the male matches, while the April 25, Wolmido and Jebi teams in female matches.

The second round will begin on March 27.

The Rimyongsu and Sobaeksu men's teams and the April 25 women's team are expected to make a strong claim for the title.

These teams gained good results in the previous three rounds.

The fourth round continues till July 17.

Where can I get a Ministry of Light Industry scarf?

April 25 is a good name for a team. Far more specific than Sheffield Wednesday or Abergavenny Thursdays, and so less likely to cause confusion.
