South Korea v Kuwait (WCq)

Postby nzfooty » Sun Sep 04, 2011 6:58 pm

This time it is an away match, so it will be something like 2 a.m. on Wednesday morning in Korea if I'm not mistaken.
Kuwait raced ahead 3-0 (on the road) against UAE, though UAE added two late goals giving the scoreline some respectability.

If Korea can win in Kuwait, then I guess we can say one foot is in the door (to the fourth round) with top-2 in each group progressing.

Preview of the match from Goal.com

Taeguk Warriors coach Cho Kwang-Rae told reporters this week he hadn't really had enough time to prepare his side for the Kuwait clash but said their 6-0 win over Lebanon was a useful practice.

I watched the game on Kuwaiti TV over here in Egypt.

Korea were dire and were lucky to come away with a point. Kuwait had an absolute stonewall penalty denied around the 87th minute.

Thanks for the info Suwonesque, unfortunately fell asleep so it was good to read Evergreen's comments on the match.

I think in the end the Kuwait v Korea results in this group will mean little though, as their opponents in this group are really
poor. We saw how bad Lebanon were against Korea, losing 6-0. Yet last night they proved to be better than UAE, beating them 3-1 at home.
