2018 K League 1

Postby RoqueJunior » Tue Jan 23, 2018 8:57 pm

With this change of name let's start a topic.

The move of the winter was surely Dejan to Suwon from FC Seoul.

He already bagged some goals in friendly games.

Many are saying that Jeonbuk has already won the title. Do you agree? Today they have added Adriano to make a fanastic duo with Tiago Alves up-front.

No. No team ever wins a title without a match played. It doesn't matter how strong your team is. Injuries happen, people fall out with each other, top profiles get bigger and better offers to go elsewhere, committees decide you cheated in previous years and take a bunch of points off you...

Yes, your points is right, but let's not forget that Jeonbuk has a great squad depth as well. Can overcome the problems with injuries. Jeonbuk is a big club and usually they can afford to not sell mid-season. Jeonbuk have lost it in that year, even with that points deduction should have won the league.

Again Jeonbuk played against a Japanese side and again not scored, lost 0-1. But the same problems. No international players and no Adriano and Tiago.

Jeonbuk - V-Varen Nagasaki 0-1

FC Seoul 0-0 Yanbian Funde
Jeonnam Dragons 2-2 Bangkok United
Ulsan Hyundai 0-1 1. FC Saarbrücken
Gangwon FC 1-2 April 25
Gyeongnam FC 1-1 PKNS FC

As you can see the highlight of these friendlies was Gangwon playing against North Korean side April 25.

Jeonbuk - V-Varen Nagasaki 0-1

To put this in perspective: V-Varen Nagasaki is a former non-league club, originating in the Kyūshū Soccer League.

It doesn't matter how much you spend, it can happen to anyone, even Man City, who have spent so much on their squad they could have built Jeonbuk a new stadium.

It is still a pity that Suwon's title was handed over to FC Seoul, by deducting points from the on-going season, not from the season that Jeonbuk had cheated.

So, Suwon got cheated, and FC Seoul rewarded :) Very illogical. And nobody dared to stand up for this issue, not even Suwon.

I will be the first to congratulate Jeonbuk on their Championship win then. Only action will be in the second division.
