There may not be many places near the Steelyard to pick up a frapuccino or get your nails done, but as you walk across the Hyeongsan bridge for a big evening match you couldn't ask for a better build-up tifo with the blast furnaces belching fire and smoke.

Steel runs in the veins of Pohang. Almost everyone in the city depends one way or another on steelmaking for their livelihoods. From the university professors at POSTECH to the ladies of the night near the station (where do they go now it's closed?) Steel is intrinsically built into the culture of Pohang and the football club and its football stadium are right in the heart of it, where they should be. As in other cities, like Middlesbrough, the team and the fans are bound together by more than just the pursuit of trophies.
Middlesbrough's magnificent backing for local steelworkers threatened with the scrapheap a lesson for all of football

Ulsan has its fair share of people who work for a living too, but Munsu just feels like it was built as far away as possible from them, on the edge of the city by a highway exit. Ulsan Mipo Dockyard on the other hand...

Pohang station has reopened again, has it not? They seem to have just knocked down the quaint little tiled roof building and punted all the prostitutes to make room for a shiny new station big enough to fit KTX trains in?

Yes, they've "reopened" Pohang station, in that there is a new station outside of town that can handle KTX trains.

The votes have been tallied and the results are in: http://www.kleagueunited.com/2015/12/20 ... wards.html.

Quite the popularity contest really, but there are some solid picks in there. Thanks to those of you who helped create the shortlist and voted in for the final picks as well!

The K-League writer for Football Radar put together a list of his Best XI for KLU. Check it out the reasoning here if you're interested: http://www.kleagueunited.com/2015/12/20 ... st-xi.html
