They should be spanked and told not to do it again. Any volunteers?

Doesn't particularly bother or annoy me. After all, they have probably never opened a history book in their lives.

But if a western band dressed as Japanese soldiers and waved the imperial flag....... wait and watch the Korean sh!t hit the fan.
I seem to remember a UFC fighter (Saint Pierre maybe) getting it in the neck from Koreans because he wore a rising sun t-shirt.

To be honest, there is more than enough genuinely offensive stuff in the world without going looking for it.

I can't get excited about people just being ignorant - which I'm sure is the case here. I can't see how dressing like a Nazi is going to sell more K-Pop records to be honest.

And the only reason anyone knows about it is that people are being offended.

Same with this 'pick up artist' guy people are getting in a flap about - ignore him and he will go away unnoticed.

They are using it to sell stuff. They're using it to gain attention.

Ignoring nazis doesn't make it go away. Even if the band have no idea what they're doing (highly possible) someone in their management agency didn't just stumble upon those uniforms when trying to design traffic wardens. And even if they thought it was fine, it's good that a large number of people told them it wasn't and brought down their website. They got a lot of publicity, but hopefully next time someone wants to book them for a football match or similar someone will ask "you're not booking the nazi band are you?" Ignorance has consequences, especially when you work in mass media.

I'm not quite sure who buys things because people dress up like Nazis? Do you think that 13 year old Korean girls are secretly fascist sympathisers or Anti-Semites?

As for gaining attention - the only attention they got seems to be because people were offended.

Some of them, yes. We had a bartender near where I lived in Seoul who used dress up like a Nazi, because he thought it was cool. And I was shocked at some of the anti-semitic things some Koreans said to me very matter-of-factly. Even ones who ought to have known better.

But it's not just the "I'll buy it because it's Nazi", but also the "it's cool because the K-pop people do it" effect. One of the advantages of not having lots of people going around dressed like Nazis is, it makes it easier to spot them when they do show up.

The attention they got was multiplied many times over by people being offended. Hopefully that attention was negative enough that they regret doing it. But you don't get up and do a half-time gig at a football match without getting some attention, even if there's only 200 people there.

Say what you like about the nazis, but they did dress well. Hugo Boss did them proud there.

Maybe we should just reclaim the fashion and have more teenage K-Poppers dancing around in various outfits reminiscent of totalitarian/oppressive/murderous regimes. It would make the real neo-nazis think twice about sporting the outfits if everyone thought they were imitating Asian pop starlets I'm sure.

I'm looking forward to the first K-Pop star to dress up as Mohammed - I think that will get some attention.

Some people are ignorant, but some are not. In the very nationalistic countries of NE Asia, there are people who equate the Nazis with might and national pride - qualities they admire. These concepts can get conflated with other things the Nazis stood for.

Mongolian neo-Nazis: Anti-Chinese sentiment fuels rise of ultra-nationalism

Dayar Mongol threatened to shave the heads of women who sleep with Chinese men. Three years ago, the leader of Blue Mongol was convicted of murdering his daughter's boyfriend, reportedly because the young man had studied in China.

That sounds a bit like trying to reclaim goose-stepping for school assemblies. Not sure it'll work, especially as there are already quite a lot of idiots, not least north of the border, who are rather fond of it.

I was thinking though the other week that Korea really needs a Basil Fawlty type character to lampoon their anti-Japanese attitudes, especially amongst slightly mad, middle-aged men.

MBC Show Champion presented by some fud from Super Junior - I get confused between all these different shows but Bora was presenting one last night. I guess its not that one.

Last line up was a bit guff - only AOA that would be of any interest.

Hopefully this weeks is Sistar, Girls Day, HyunA, GaIn, T-Ara, Dalshabet, and Pritz singing Deutschland Deutschland Uber Alles sporting Hitler taches and driving Panzers into the Rhineland.
