Aye. A lovely hedge runs half way down one side of the pitch, and when i was there four grannies with Brechin scarves were knitting behind the goal and telling players off for diving. Lovely stuff

From the rules "if the winner doesn't post one within 24 hours then anyone gets to post one".

Quick Scottish themed one for Rothesay Saint;

Which football stadium, which has already been much admired on this site with the photo linked by someone else, is right next to the East Kilbride baths?

Using Sherlock Holmes like skills, I reckon it must be Ballerup stadium in Denmark.

Very good. Unfortunately I couldn't post it yesterday when wikipedia was down. That might have scuppered Sherlock Holmes of the internet.

Not even the death of the internet could scupper me on that one, as rather randomly I've been to Ballerup on an East Kilbride scout trip, so knew that the towns were twinned and that quite possibly there was some name exchanging going on. :)

How about this one then, Dr. Watson?

It looks very much like the Hong Kong stadium where they hold the sevens.

If that turns out to be right, someone else can have a go at asking the question as I just had one.

It is indeed Hong Kong stadium, home of SCAA and the egg chasing sevens.

I used to go there with my dad when I was a youngster. The atmosphere that old place generated was incredible. I loved that it was in the middle of some dodgy old housing complex, right where you would least expect a stadium to be. You could literally feel the amazing history of the place when you were in there. The seats were right next to the pitch, and the 'popside' terrace, where I would stand on top of a milkman's tray so that I could see, was brilliant.

My uncle still has the ticket stub from the 1970's when Derby County beat Real Madrid 4-1 there in the European Cup.

Unfortunately, this is what it looks like now:

Saw West Ham lose there in the rain in the early nineties. Rio Ferdinand was the only player that came over to acknowledge the fans at the end. He just kind of shrugged his shoulders and walked off. It was a shit day.

Here's one from the memory banks that I always thought had rather more character with that pylon set in the terrace! (Did get a win there though, which probably helped cloud my judgement a bit!)

Burnden Park, the old home of Bolton. Much better than their current souless bowl; I really hate new stadia!

Sticking with classic grounds then, this was one of my personal favourites- everything a football ground should be imo.
