Bugger. Well, with such widespread participation the next question, which is as good as it's going to get right now, doesn't have much chance either.

For scoring almost as many goals in Germany as Vedad Ibišević and playing in the prestigious World Cup tournament, King Cha, alias Cha Bum-kun, is unanimously recognised as the greatest Asian footballer of the last 1000 years, but what day of the week was he born on?

Monday's child is fair of face,
Tuesday's child is full of grace,
Wednesday's child joy will bring,
Thursday's child is Samsung's King,
Friday's child is loving and giving,
Saturday's child works hard for a living,
But the child who is born on the Sabbath day
Is bonnie and blithe and good and gay.

Thursday it is.
Bring back King Cha.

Friday

Paquebot has the right answer. 22nd May 1953 was a Friday (and two months before the end of the Korean war.)

Just in case any of you think I might have been disparaging King Cha's claim to being the greatest ever Asian footballer, I should point out that he has played in three World Cup matches, which is fully three more than I have. So there's that. He has also scored as many World Cup goals as me, (which is one less than Huh Jung-moo and one more than Cho Kwang-rae).

Loving and giving, huh? Well I suppose he did dole out three points to the opposition on a regular basis at the hen hoose. It was never going to be fair of face, was it.
Bring back King Cha.

Which Korean footballer started their professional career with Suwon, next moved to Incheon, and then transferred to a team in New York earlier this year?

Jeon Ga-eul.. she didn't last long in the states if Wikipedia is anything to go by but an impressive strike rate at international level of 33 goals in 70 games. Stielike should stick her in the squad for the Canada game and see if anyone notices.

Dalian Atkinson is Player 2 and one of the others is bound to be Zoran Urumov.

Player 8 allows me to repost this, which never gets old;

They should do that more often.

That's 1, 2, 5, 7 & 8 all correct. Surprisingly Zoran did not make the cut for this one.. I'll leave it a bit longer before putting in a few hints for the other three.
