K3 - Paju Citizen - 파주스타디움

Postby Piggy » Fri Oct 19, 2012 12:45 pm

I'm planning on going to see them tomorrow, but I notice that there are a couple of stadiums in Paju, the Public Stadium and the National Training Centre one. Does anyone know which one the game is taking place at and how close it is to the subway? Thanks in advance.

Its the public stadium and its maybe about half an hours walk from the subway station (Geumchon). Nice stadium as well, with a little graveyard that overlooks it from the hill above.

Thanks very much, Rothesay. I'll look up that station and then try and find the ground.

I went earlier in the year and got a taxi from Geumchon, only about 5 mins or so.

I should have asked about the kick-off time too, it's a lesson that I've never managed to learn.

Soccerway had it down as 7pm and so I took in the 1pm Jungnang v Namyangju game first. A leisurely subway trip across town afterwards and then an even slower wander to the Paju stadium got me there for 5.30pm. The actual kick-off time was 5pm and so I'd missed most of the first half. The second half was good though with four Paju goals and three Cheonan sendings off including the keeper who had to be replaced by an outfield player wearing a bib. With another five goals at the earlier Jungnang game it was a decent day out.

Asking would have done no good this time I'm afraid, it was (and still is) down as a 7pm kick off on the KFA website as well.

I don't know if that makes you feel better or worse!

In reality it didnt make a lot of difference. I got there with enough daylight left to see the graves up on the hill that you had mentioned and there was enough on-field action in the second half to make it worth the journey. It had the added bonus of freeing up an extra couple of hours in the evening and I was able to gatecrash some KOTESOL dinner that my girlfriend was at.

Worth renaming this thread from 'Challengers League - Paju Citizen' to 'K3 - Paju Citizen - 파주스타디움'?
