Daejeon Citizen

City: Daejeon
Stadium: Daejeon World Cup Stadium
Capacity: 41,295
Formed: 1997
Division: K League
Honours: KFA Cup 2001
Website: http://www.fcdaejeon.com

How To Get There

The stadium is seven minutes walk from Daejeon World Cup Stadium Station which is on the Daejeon Subway. The ride takes about 30 minutes from Daejeon Korail Station, slightly less from Oryong (Seodaejeon). The stadium is not directly visible from the station but it is not hard to find. You can either walk through the wholesale market or around it.

Tickets

The West and East stands are covered. The Daejeon fans gather at the South end.

Nearby

There is a wholesale market right next to the stadium. The stadium is also close to Yuseong Hot Springs.

I'll just add that if you are driving, you should come off the motorway at the Yuseong toll booth. You can see the stadium directly in front of you.

As part of my ongoing scheme to spam the travel guides with blog posts, here is my visit to Daejeon for their 2010 game against Jeonbuk. This was one of the games listed in the match-fixing investigation as being successfully fixed.

Just a message for people coming in on Buses.....

Most people will come in at two bus stations, the much preferably one is smaller Yusong bus terminal as it is a little walk from the subway station and only two or three stops from the WC stadium. I noticed this bus terminal does service buses from most of Korea (excepting the south east) so could be good looking into whether you can catch a bus to here.

Otherwise you will end up at the central Bokhap bus terminal and this is nowhere near the subway line and on the other side of the city (eastern). A taxi will cost about 10 000 won from this bus terminal to the WC stadium. You could work out the buses I suppose but most of us wouldn't do that.

A full house turned out today at the Daejeon World Cup Stadium to see their latest 77 year-old South American import.

Their new Korean import was also presented the day before.
