Been to yeosu before and know buses head to suncheon but finding it hard to find buses online for the mentioned terminal above, if not I'll hit the terminal in seoul to check. Want to tick this off the one to visit list but may be better in a sat match, above is lots of help just being lazy...

Why don't you just take the supporter bus down?

Me and a bus of annoying korean students don't really go, i don't go to football to help people practise their english, more a few beers and a long bus ride. Plus it removes all the fun of getting lost in a korean backwater. Found what i needed on bus site, so all well, just have to muster the effort for a return late on sunday.

Sounds exactly like me...going on the supporters bus sounds more like a chore than something enjoyable. I like the trip just as much as the game, plus having a drink in the city afterwards.
The supporters are in and out as soon as the game is done. Not my style at all...especially if it is a long trip, if you have made the effort you might as well take in the sites (and soju) of the city as well.

One of my mates used to live in Gwangyang (Posco worker) and there is absolutely nothing going on there. I went there 3 times and everytime it was suggested if we wanted to see something we go out of town.
Near Suncheon however there are a few good things to see. Nagan Folk Village, Boseong Tea Plantation and the temples of Seonamsa and Seongwangsa are really good and you can also hike between them. However you would need a weekend (and perhaps a car) to do a tour of this.

I've been to Yeosu, Suncheon and Boseong on a summer vacation trip before, and I really did enjoy all three (especially the green tea plantations) but I'm hoping to make a double header of Chunnam and Gwangju this weekend and keeping things closer in to the cities.

I'm going to the Chunnam game so you could meet me and my girlfriend for a pre-match beer if you fancy, Sampo. Unless the journey is as onerous as your one to Pocheon in which case some second half beers would have to do.

I couldnt see much going on nearby so our plan is to get a taxi to Suncheon after the game, stay there and then hike up Mt Jogye on the Sunday.

I think Pohang is great, but there's something more awesome about the little stadium Chunnam play at.

Still to tick it off. But I agree, Chunnam's stadium looks great. First time I've seen pics I think. Thanks for posting them. Looking forward to visiting it at some point.
