Thankyou very much for this.

This is pretty much the only info I could find on the net about getting to Ulsan stadium from the KTX.

According to Daum Maps it is about 20km (36mins) away by taxi and the fare would be about 15 000 won. If you have 4 of you it would be a lot easier just to get a taxi to the stadium than messing around with the bus. By yourself than I suppose I could see why the bus would be a decent option (I would still probably end up taking the taxi though - lazy bugger I am)

Already planning your trip in April, I'm guessing! There'll be a few of us from Busan going up for it as well, as we've got a few Aussies at work.

I was looking at this game as well.....live only 100km from brisbane so almost a home game. I live 100km from Ulsan so I suppose this cancels it out. It is midweek and have no idea what my schedule will be like in April but if I can make it I will be going.

I'm pretty sure I will just get a taxi (especially on the way back) but depending on timing I might try and use the bus on the way there if i have extra time just to have a bit of a look around.

All depends on wether I work at all that day.

I was at the Ulsan v Jeonbuk game in 2010. I walked from the bus station to the stadium, but you need a couple of hours.

A few notes on getting there.

I went via the KTX station.

I caught bus 5004 (W 3,200) to Sinbok Rotary 신복로타리 (a giant round about) and from their caught bus 733 (W1,200) to the University.

Royal seats (best in ground) W10,000
Standard (still pretty good) W7,000
Away fans W8,000

Taxi back from the ground to the KTX station was W13,500

Can anybody recommend a good bar or bar area in Ulsan? I'm going to stay the night after Incheon's match this Saturday.

No alcohol allowed and NO REFRESHMENT STAND in the away end. Sucks after being couped up on a bus for 6 hours. You'll have to get any food or drinks outside the stadium.

Ulsan city hall ran some design competition recently for ideas of what to do with bits of the Munsu and this entry, to turn bits of the stand into a youth hostel, was the winner. Don't know if they'll actually go ahead with it though:

I wonder if there is any realisation, anywhere in Korean local government, that building all these huge football stadiums was somehow a mistake.

Given they seem to be continuing to build new ones every year, you'd have to assume not. :D

So freaking incredibly sad.

Take all the money needed to build a huge empty stadium and build a higher class stadium like Incheon United currently has.

One more thing, Incheon United has that under ground home plus humming now which may very well improve attendance.
