2018 K3 League

Looks like we've got at least one new club for 2018, though it's not all that 'new' as it essentially replaces the K-League Basic club that was wound up at the end of 2016.

From a quick search on Google, the year 940 was the first recorded time in history when the city was known as Chungju, I don't think they're quite claiming 1,077 years of football club history...

I keep hearing rumors from locals that Yesan are looking at entering a team in K3 at some point; they were in the National League until about 2011 or so before folding and they have a nice little stadium and a big shiny bus so I guess that makes them as official as anyone else?

Does this beautiful new thread mean we are only having one for the whole of K3? I personally feel this is a good move.

I thought it was a AM radio station for a minute. Many of the station call names here in Canada even start with "CH"!

Looks like Yeosu are setting up a K3 side for this season, Yeosu Sejong FC is the name I've heard for the new club.

No sign of fixtures yet, but the teams and grounds are up on the website. Pyeongtaek did get promoted, and Chungju are sensibly going to be playing in the sports park rather than the big stadium so that's another new place for the 48 club.

The KFA K3 League Introduction page is displaying a different logo for Chungju Citizen now:

Yeoju Sejong Football Club has a Facebook page displaying their logo:

Buyeo FC have this logo associated with the club, which seems to draw inspiration from Icheon Citizen:

And Pyeongtaek have apparently adopted a gorilla as their team mascot this year:

And fixtures look like they're out:

K3 Basic

K3 Advanced

How high do you think Goyang will finish in the standings? Higher than 9th?

Also, ditching the K3 for Bucheon? Traitor.

Chungju logo: steam from boiling liquid and a traffic skid mark?

Pyeongtaek: is that gorilla missing the lower half of its jaw, or have comically large teeth?

It's what Bucheon did years before.

Look who is on his high horse early on! Captain Cabbage himself! What makes you think Yangju are going to do any better in Basic than they did in Advanced last year? I mean they will.....but will they?!

Yangju finished 12th in Advanced last year and there are only 11 teams in Basic so I'm predicting that yes, they will do better than last season.

Of course, we still have one of the worst club badges in the entire K3 ... :smt101

These badges are going downhill, aren’t they? Looks like school kids were involved in a wet play time coloring competition. Donkey Kong goes to the dentist? Chungju have changed their entire color scheme before the season starts, giving credit to my theory that it’s just whatever is going cheap at Dongdaewon market stalls. Martyrs went from red to yellow to white to yellow based on nothing but price... and the possibility the Rev Cho was selling the kit at the end of each season to boost the church funds.

See we are back at the Eulmuri this year.....better news......the big stadium was awful.....and we are playing on a Sunday....the Rev Cho is not happy! He's got to do three services down near the 'Buk, risk running into a few ex-Martyrs who are still out for blood, and get to Eulmuri and back. I note from the Goyang facebook feed a few foreigners sending in comments, the star is rising....

...also it's the 10th anniversary of K3! When my grandkids ask me what I've done with my life, I can show them the archives from this forum and smile...show me a man who spent his weekends watching K3 football - and commenting on a board - and I'll show you a hero.
