Round 2 Results
2017 March 4

[07] Gimpo 2:0 Gyeongju
[08] Icheon 2:2 Cheongju FC
[09] Yangju x:x Pocheon
[10] Hwaseong 0:2 Chuncheon

Only one home win today. Cheongju City FC and Gimpo are the only teams with 6 points while Yangju sit alone at the foot of the tale with 0 points.

Dear Pocheon,

Come back soon so we can take three points off you.

Sincerely,
A Yangju fan

In the event of war, I'm going to burn Pocheon to the ground and blame it on the North.

I like the way you think.

18/02/17: 2-0 v FC Alga Bishkek (Kyrgystan)
20/02/17: 0-0 v Dhaka Abahani (Bangladesh)
22/02/17: 1-1 v TC Sports Club (Maldives)

They now face Bangladeshi side Chittagong Abahani in the semi I think on Tuesday 28th. TC Sports Club and Manang Marshyangdi Club face off in the other semi final on Monday.

To conclude this storyline, Pocheon played Maldivian side TC Sports Club in the final.
The score was 2-2 at full-time, Pocheon lost 2-4 on penalties.

Also, are Goyang now using an imitation Hello Kitty as their club mascot? I noticed this on their Facebook page:

[09] Yangju 2:3 Pocheon

Attended the match today. Before kick-off I would have been content with a narrow loss like this but after seeing the match I'm actually disappointed with the result. Pocheon looked quite competent in general but Yangju surprised me by having more decent chances at goal.

Yangju's first was a ball lobbed over the defense that was then slotted past the keeper, who couldn't get to it in time. Pocheon equalized with a free kick near the corner flag that was tucked into goal after a bit of scrambling in the penalty area. 1-1 at the end of the first half.

Pocheon took the lead when a winger cut inside from the right and slotted the ball past our keeper. Yangju then went into beast mode for the last 15-20 minutes. Our beanpole number 9 scored the equalizer following some nice one-touch passing and build-up on the left wing, we had a shot hit the post and flash across the goal mouth, another shot hit the crossbar, we forced the keeper into a series of saves and a defender on the line blocked another shot before Pocheon cleared the ball, the keeper parried away a couple more shots on goal ... it looked like Pocheon were on the back foot and we could snatch a win.

With two minutes left they made a quick counter-attack up the pitch and a long-range shot flew past our keeper to give Pocheon full points. Absolutely gutted.

Also, has anyone else seen the new Pocheon kits? They must be rather proud of that last championship given that they've put a giant gold circle on the front of the shirt to remind everyone of that accomplishment.

Good shirt. I mean you know how I feel about Pocheon though. I'm always happy to see Yangju get beaten too. My ideal outcome for this game would have been 0-0 with all 22 players struck by lightning.

Ooh nice shirt.

Should have kept in touch with my little Pocheon friend from the 48 days.

Not that he would probably be able to give me a shirt. I mean they didn't even give him a car to get to games. He had to take the bus.

Round 3 Results
2017 April 8

[13] Gyeongju 2:2 Icheon (Attendance: 280)
[14] Yangju 1:2 Cheongju FC (Attendance: 190)
[15] Pocheon 1:0 Chuncheon (Attendance: 325)
[16] Hwaseong 1:0 Cheongju City (Attendance: 320)
[17] Yangpyeong 1:0 Jeonju (Attendance: 220)
[18] Paju 3:1 Gimpo (Attendance: 800)

Looks like the K3 match information now includes attendance figures (관중수) and a description of each team's uniform, along with a bit more in the stats section including minutes played and official recognition of assists. Not sure how accurate the attendance figures are going to be, but at least it's something more for us to argue about online. 8)

==============================================================

I went to Yangju's match this afternoon and left feeling very disappointed. Similar to last week Yangju put in the effort but ended the match with nothing to show for it. Cheongju scored first from a free kick + header, Yangju equalized with a cross + volley, Yangju had two shots hit the side of the post, and Cheongju scored the match winner in second half stoppage time when our keeper blocked a shot but the ball bounced back into the Cheongju player's path and it looked like it came off his knee before slowly rolling into goal. Cheongju also had a player sent off in stoppage time for getting a red card (second yellow) due to taking too long with his throw-in.

This was one of the games Yangju really needed to win to stay competitive at the top of the standings. Instead, they're still rooted to the bottom and the only team without a point. Really good movement on the wings and there was some nice one-touch passing going down the center but I feel that our forwards take too many touches before taking a shot.

Looks like we'll be seeing Yangju in Basic next year.....where they belong. Actually Buyeo made Yangju look like Tokyo so they probably deserve one another.

When they decided to split the K3, I don't think anyone thought of the consequences for this forum.

I'm still here, just rather disappointed I missed last weekend's match since it was the first time Yangju have won this season. Interestingly, they've pulled themselves off the bottom with 3 points from four matches and it's 2010 and 2011 champions Gyeongju that are now propping up the standings.
