Busan Transportation Corporation FC have only had one manager during their 11 years in existence... but that changes this close season. Park Sang-in is out, replaced by former Gimhae FC manager Kim Han-bong.

The league might be on its way out but those are some reasonably big name managerial appointments by league standards...

There were rumours that 2017 would be its last season (HolyJoe seemed to expect this), or that the National League and K3 League would be merged into the "Korean Football League" (tentative name) at some point (2018? 2020?), but who knows.

The National League just appointed a new president who has plans to expand the league back to 10 clubs.

Nice and simple this season, with eight teams in the league they're playing each other twice home and away for a total of 28 matches per side. They can't have 50% of their member clubs contesting the championship playoffs, nor do they want to have the top two playing off in a championship final, so this season it'll be the top 3 that contest the post-season playoffs to decide the league champion.

The season kicks off on March 18th, not seen word on whether or not they're retaining the National League Cup but I hope they do.

Just had a quick look at the schedule and there are no games in June so a good chance the cup will still be on.

Thrills and spills today in the National League. Busan are still the big draw that everyone wants to see despite being shit this year and rooted to the bottom of the league:

Changwon 2-2 Gangneung (153)
Mokpo 0-0 Gyeongju KHNP (103)
Cheonan 0-0 Korail (763)
Gimhae 0-0 Busan TC (975)

Real Madrid v Barcelona, Rangers v Celtic and Gimhae v BTC all on the same weekend? That's the three biggest derby games in world football.
Bring back King Cha.
