During the match Junggang's number 6 noticed Paquebot's truck was illegally parked and immediately arranged to represent the local council who subsequently fined him. Paquebot claimed his parking was legal under Brassica law and the case went all the way to the Korean supreme court before it was ruled that Cabbage Country is not an autonomous state and therefore Brassica law could not apply.
Bring back King Cha.

Paquebot dressed a judge in full cloak and wig and stormed onto the pitch where he started reciting little known Korean traffic regulations whilst simultaneously juggling three cabbages. Whilst Yangju players were pleading with him to get off the field, the Chorus scored and then burst into an a capella medley of K-pop hits. Meanwhile the assistant referee had rushed off the field, got into his car and driven off - later explaining that he hadn't known about Law 14.1.3 - driving without a cabbage or cauliflower in your car is illegal at all times in any district north of the Han river. With no assistant referee, the Mustangs volunteered their 'kit man' - a well known local drunk, simply known as 'Kim' to act in his place but following two controversial decisions and some impromptu mooning, a dispute was held in which Yangju offered their own assistant referee - the aforementioned paquebot. This led to an even more farcical situation of two assistant referees running the line in one half, one a foreigner dressed as a judge and one an old drunken man, and each disagreeing with the others decisions. The referee had no choice but to abandon the match. The score didn't stand but the game was replayed behind closed doors at Hyochang Stadium but the Eagles could only raise four players and Yangju three. Nevertheless they played with Yangju allowed 'flying keepers' as they had a man less. Yangju won one-nil though, ironically, the goal scorer was offside. I only know this because Gyongmaman had woken from a drunken stupor a week after he had taken in the Korean Schools U9 championship second round qualifier North West section and saw the game. No wonder paquebot is so angry!

Not quite as comical as some others might have you believe.

In Yangju, if your cabbage doesn't understand you and you have valid reason for not eating it, then it is ok to go to other vegetables for your kimchi - though strictly nothing from south of Namyangju. -- Martyrs Forever

There's an online rumour that K League Challenge withdrawees(?) Goyang Zaicro were refused entry into the K3 League for 2017 by the KFA for submitting their application after the deadline.

We could have had a great Goyang derby! I suspect the Hand of Cho has played a part in this...he's everywhere...and he still does a service on a Sunday morning!

Rejoice! There's now a Wiki page (in Korean) for the 2017 K3 Basic, but it's still being ironed out.

Depressingly similar to a Scottish league in terms of number of teams.....I'd love to see a Montrose (My Scottish team) vs Goyang friendly.....

Has SpainGuy taken his logo and gone home? :smt109 (Taxi!...)

Siheung City has replaced its Atlético Madrid-inspired logo with... something else. It definitely has a "WOW" factor.

The giant "S", straight from design styles of decades past, naturally stands for four words:
* Siheung!
* Success!
* Shine!
* Supreme!

That

And when did the zebra appear on your avatar?
There are two routes to success in football. One is being good. The other is being lucky. You need both to win a championship. But you need only one to win a match.

That was there from when I had to do a redesign to incorporate Goyang into the Martyrs logo after my Martyrs badge on zebra skin rug had to be thrown out when the Rev. Cho moved us all out west. It's like a year and a half ago now!

FC Uijeongbu of the K3 League Basic has signed 20-year-old Vietnamese defender Nguyễn Hữu Anh Tài from Hoàng Anh Gia Lai, the V.League 1 club that has a link with Arsenal.

Must want to get noticed by the big Korean clubs if he's willing to go from the Vietnamese top-flight to the South Korean fifth division.

Not sure if the schedule has been publicly released yet, but Goyang have posted theirs on Facebook.

They open away to Buyeo FC on Saturday, April 8th. Only one match played between late June and mid-August.

EDIT: supposedly the season begins in February (see post below). :smt102

With the eight "relegated" teams from the 2016 K3 League, plus newcomers Busan and Pyeongtaek, minus Jeonnam Yeonggwang (who are confirmed as not participating), the 2017 K3 League Basic will have nine clubs.

Matches will be held primarily on Saturdays, although the opening and closing rounds of the season will be on Sundays. The season begins on February 26th.

There will be two promotion spots to the 2018 K3 Advanced. The winner receives automatic promotion, while 2nd through 5th will compete for the second promotion spot via playoffs.

The league is pushing for at least one U-21 player to dress for each club every match. This is recommended for 2017, and will become mandatory for 2018.
