Just in Seoul there's Jungnang Chorus Mustang in Jungnang-gu and Seoul United in Nowon-gu (unless they've permanently moved). Then in north/northeastern Gyeonggi you've got Uijeongbu, Yangju, and Pocheon. The stadiums in Uijeongbu and Yangju are both on Seoul Metro Line 1, and Line 7 is being extended up into Pocheon. Don't think it would take that much longer to reach Goyang's ground, either.

I guess I should have been clearer - I meant no 'bigger' clubs from the top couple of divisions there. I still reckon whichever of the K3 sides gets properly organised first has a good chance of capturing a lot of the market up there as a lot of Koreans will gravitate towards whoever's closest and playing at the highest level.
This season I will be mostly supporting :
KLClassic - Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors / KLChallenge & National League - Anyone & Everyone / K3 League - Jeonju Citizen

Possibly, but first you have to get them away from following only the European leagues.
There are two routes to success in football. One is being good. The other is being lucky. You need both to win a championship. But you need only one to win a match.

Big swanky stadium move, lucrative corporate sponsorship... I hope you're reconsidering all this MartyrsForever!

Goyang FC are now apparently being discussed on Brazilian radio. What the fuck is happening in this crazy world of K3, can I stop and get off?

This from Facebook regarding the potential signing of a Brazilian bloke called Abner Dos Santos Pinto:

Fabrício Rodrigues Paiva:
Sorry for the multiple comments. I was sad not to see his name on the list. Here in Brazil we are already disclosed the name of Goyang in radio and blog

Round 1 Results

[01] 15:00 Pyeongtaek 0:0 Buyeo
[02] 15:00 Seoul Jungnang 1:1 Busan FC
[03] 15:00 Uijeongbu 0:2 Siheung
[04] 14:00 Pyeongchang 4:0 Seoul United

New clubs Pyeongtaek and Busan both earn their first points in the K3.
In Yangju, if your cabbage doesn't understand you and you have valid reason for not eating it, then it is ok to go to other vegetables for your kimchi - though strictly nothing from south of Namyangju. -- Martyrs Forever

In addition to catching the Hwaseong-Yangju match on Saturday I saw Uijeongbu host Siheung on Sunday. Nice day for football but not too many people in the stands. Uijeongbu's Thammanoon Salee started in midfield and was the team's hardest-working player. Drove the attack and was always quick to come back to help the defense when Siheung started pushing forward.

Last season's 12th versus 20th so you'd expect Siheung to win but Uijeongbu did have a few dangerous moments. Siheung played a lot more cohesively though, with players moving off the ball, everyone participating in some way going forward or back, and the defenders in particular looking more comfortable with the ball while under pressure. Uijeongbu could get the ball into Siheung's third but from there they seemed to keep relying on one player on the wing crossing it to another player in the center with a third player waiting near the top of the box for support.

Both of Siheung's goals probably could have been stopped by the defense/keeper. Their first came from a cross from the right that was tucked home by a player who'd been waiting literally right in front of the keeper. Two Uijeongbu players were nearby but both fell over trying to get to the cross. The second goal was from a Siheung player who lost his marker, broke into the box to receive the ball, and then fired it past the keeper at the near post. Uijeongbu had two shots catch Siheung's keeper off-guard in the second half but both were slightly off-target.

Big changes across the K3 in terms of club membership and even league structure, one thing that remains constant is the Zebras are shit.

Some photos from the Uijeongbu - Siheung match:

Image
Expected Siheung to open the scoring with this chance, but we had to wait a bit longer for that.
Image
Siheung's first goal came from this opportunity. Tucked below the keeper.
Image
And here's Siheung's second goal, scored at the near post.
Image
A Uijeongbu player came charging up the left, rounded one defender (seen falling here), rounded a second defender (#30), pulled the keeper out, passed the ball to the middle ... and no one was there to tuck it in.
Image
A header from Uijeongbu's #99 was on target but saved by the keeper.
Image
Another shot from #99 had the keeper beat but sailed wide.
Image
"Why don't you just go home, ball?"

I didn't go in the end....laziness is a problem. I now have to wait a month for Goyang's first game so am filled with regret. I mean the Zebras getting done was the highlight of the weekend for me.

We played a friendly and got blown-up 4-2 by TNT FC.....whoever they are.
We were due to play the Eagles in a friendly at 10.30 on Tuesday morning but I don't know what happened.
Might be worth putting 10,000 on us getting done by the students in the cup next week.

I presume Goyang have decided against signing the CV-doctoring Brazilian bloke featured earlier in this thread as they've released squad photos and there's no Marcos Dos Santos amongst them. There is an Ecto (엑토.. Hector?) who will wear number 9, and a Wellytong (웨리통, Wellington I presume) who has been given number 47.

Wellytong looks happy to be there, Ecto not so much...
