2017 K3 League Basic (D5) season

Postby MipoFanatic » Sat Dec 03, 2016 5:03 am

From Oct 19, 2015:
Holyjoe wrote:Pyeongtaek look like they're going to get a team on the go for 2016 as well. The article mentions their aim of joining the K3, but then it also mentions "프로축구단" and "프로축구 3부 리그".. they wouldn't be professional if they were in the K3, would they? And surely the K3 is the 4부 리그 anyway. But K3 it most probably is, if they're actually serious about it. Holding their press conference in a galbi restaurant isn't a good sign...

From May 22, 2016:
Holyjoe wrote:Looks like we could have a 21st member for 2017 as Pyeongtaek could see K3 Basic League action next season. LED manufacturing company G-Smatt are meant to be the company behind the team which will be known as Pyeongtaek G-Smatt for short but which has a Sunday name of Pyeongtaek Glass Interactive Smart Display System Football Club. We've not had such an evocatively named football club in the K3 since Eunpyeong Chung-gu Sungshim Hospital FC so I'm all for them joining.

Pyeongtaek Citizen FC (평택시민축구단), a.k.a. Pyeongtaek G-Smatt FC (평택지스마트축구단), has been established with the city's backing, and it looks like they will begin play in the 2018 K3 League Basic, although there are some hints they may begin as early as 2017.

The council meeting back in July became rather heated, however, so who knows how long until the city tells them to bugger off.

Their website is here (and you can get a sneak peek behind the frontpage here).

I can't believe we started this thread already! Brilliant! Are we having one thread for Basic and Advanced or what? Exciting times!

Posting at 6:14am on a Saturday morning? Did you have quite the night, or are you nearing pension eligibility?

Both the current frontpage of the club's website seeking player recruitment, as well as the wording of this article, suggest the club will begin K3 play in 2017.

Sheeeeeeeet! This is serious! They have a tiny drum and everything!
There are two routes to success in football. One is being good. The other is being lucky. You need both to win a championship. But you need only one to win a match.

What, you weren't impressed by the dystopian images of a port full of parked cars as wide as the eyes can see?

Early to bed, early to rise...etc...

Maybe that Turkish lad can come over and play for them...

What are the odds of all of them going for 'rock' in that game of photo rock-paper-scissors?!

MipoFanatic wrote:Busan FC, making noises about joining the K3 League for 2017, have a new club crest. I'm fairly certain they're not allowed to use official city symbols (note the bottom) without permission, so that'll likely need to change.

They even have an Android app.

As Holyjoe mentioned previously, they intend to play at the Asiad World Cup Stadium Auxiliary Pitch. They recently had an intra-squad practice match there.

Busan FC has been approved to compete in the K3 League for 2017 by the Korean Football Association.

They will be organized as a social cooperative, apparently similar to how Barcelona is structured. So expect Busan FC to take most of the K3 television revenue and leave crumbs for the other clubs.

The club has some sort of agreement with Busan City (although I'm not sure if it's for more than the lease of the Asiad Stadium Auxiliary Pitch), so I assume the city is aware of their logo appearing within the club's new logo.

Busan FC have also signed a sponsorship contract with a cosmetics company that makes hair cream and herbal cosmetics, so that means Ahn Jung-hwan will no doubt be appointed manager at some point.

And here's the new mascot design:

Good news. They're going into Basic then? Does this mean there are now three Busan teams? Probably all having seagulls as mascots...

Maybe it's just the way they're standing/sitting/squatting in that photo, but Pyeongtaek's token foreign player looks incredibly tiny. Also, the one player at the back right who can't figure out the basics of getting in a straight line doesn't bode well for their defensive wall-making capabilities...
This season I will be mostly supporting :
KLClassic - Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors / KLChallenge & National League - Anyone & Everyone / K3 League - Jeonju Citizen

Did you notice that bloke with the dodgy 'tache too? Really 80s. This lot are shaping up to be a real amateur team.

Jungnang Chorus Mustang, the K3 League club that KBS featured in a documentary a couple of years ago and took Busan IPark to penalties in the 2014 Korean FA Cup, have been renamed Seoul Jungnang FC and have hired Seong Han-su from Honam University to be their new manager.

I mean the Mustangs was a great name! I don't know what the Chorus shit was about. They never even sang but they did chase ambulances....they'll always be the Eagles on here - no matter what they change their names to! Filthy bastards!

Jungnang shitebags... as MartyrsForever says their old name was tremendous. If there's ever a sixth tier I hope they're the first team relegated to it.

Glad I'm not the only one that feels that way. I'm still upset over last season's match.
In Yangju, if your cabbage doesn't understand you and you have valid reason for not eating it, then it is ok to go to other vegetables for your kimchi - though strictly nothing from south of Namyangju. -- Martyrs Forever
