Is the Gyeongju one not where the K3 team normally play, or am I getting mixed up? It looks familiar but after the first sixty or so they do start to get a bit confusing. :0)

Gyeongju Nukes (N-League) and Gyeongju Citizen (K3) both usually play in the massive stadium with a grass field, which is part of the same Hwangseong Park. But this time they'll play on one of the secondary pitches with artificial turf and a tiny stand.

They really should just play there all the time...

Round 27 results:

Yongin 0-2 Ulsan Mipo Dockyard
Gimhae FC 2-3 Cheonan
Gyeongju Nukes 2-2 Mokpo
Daejeon Korail 0-3 Changwon
Busan Transport 1-2 Gangneung

Both Changwon and Cheonan won their final-round matches, but Changwon did so by a three goal margin, meaning that they leapfrog back above Cheonan on goal difference and quality for the playoffs. Changwon have Gimhae to thank, as they put up a stiff fight against Cheonan.

Between the play-offs for the N-League and K3 League an outsider to Korean football might think that the N-League is for clubs located in the eastern half of Korea and the K3 League for clubs in the western half of the country ...

Pity the first playoff round is on a weekday afternoon. Some things in Korean football never change...

Seems that today's playoff opener will be covered by Naver, Afreeca, IB Sports, and STN.

Half-time: Gyeongju 2-0 Changwon

EDIT: And that's how it ended. Ulsan Mipo Dockyard host Gyeongju on Saturday in what could be the former's last-ever match.

Second-round playoff finished Ulsan Mipo Dockyard 1-1 Gyeongju Nukes, so Mipo advance to the championship final against league winners Gangneung City.

First leg of the final confirmed for Wednesday, November 9th, 19:00 in Ulsan.

I was selfishly hoping for another ridiculous weekday 3:00pm kickoff so I could watch the stream from abroad, but no dice.

Click here for highlights from the second-round playoff between Ulsan Mipo Dockyard and Gyeongju Nukes.

Ulsan Mipo Dockyard won their last-ever home match with a 1-0 scoreline over Gangneung City in the championship final's first leg, thanks to a 17th-minute goal by Lee In-jae. Photo gallery here.

Ulsan Mipo Dockyard, (which I believe is) the largest shipbuilding jaebeol in Korea, decided to stop funding the club. It was a company team with little to no revenue, so no surprise that it's shutting down without a sugar-daddy to bankroll it.

Shocking news that Changwon City manager passed away during the week. Rest in peace.
