Buyeo's bus went wrong..
They sadly stood on the road and faced their 3:0 lose.

Siheung are at the cutting edge of K3 - and I don't mean the bloke who slashed Buyeo's tyres - they have a phone app to keep up to date with all the latest goings-on....

....ALERT! Chairman walked his small dog around the pitch....ALERT! Woman who cleans dressing rooms finds 500won coin.....ALERT! Buyeo aren't coming because the bus broke down....ALERT! Second person signs up for Siheung phone app....

And they have a club shop!
http://fcsiheung.com/bbs/content.php?co_id=sub06_01

Wow!Siheung anybody?

I'm sure the Zebs have all that stuff too but as their fanbase is wholly illiterate, it seems pointless.

Fixtures for this week:

Yangpyeong vs Cheongju City
Chuncheon vs Chunnam Youngkwang
Buseo vs Jeonju
Icheon vs Siheung
Jungnang vs Hwaseong
Pyeongchang vs Seoul United
Goyang vs Yangju
Paju vs Pocheon
Uijeongbu vs Gimpo
Cheongju FC vs Gyeongju

Paju may be a tough game for Procheon and Gimpo could be joint top by 7pm but I'll be at the Magpie Cabbage clash with the Bee Gee hooligans and a Cass Fresh.

Yangpyeong 0 - 1 Cheongju City
Chuncheon 2 - 0 Chunnam Youngkwang
Buyeo 0 - 1 Jeonju
Icheon 3 - 2 Siheung Citizen
Jungnang 1 - 2 Hwaseong
Pyeongchang 3 - 1 Seoul United
Goyang Citizen 1 - 6 Yangju (really 2-5*)
Paju Citizen 2 - 2 Pocheon
Uijeongbu 0 - 5 Gimpo Citizen
Cheongju FC 0 - 1 Gyeongju

*Perfectly legitimate Goyang goal disallowed in last minute and there would have been no time for the restart and the Yangju 6th in injury time.

Goyang 1 Yangju 6 (really 2-5)

Wholesale changes made to the Goyang starting 11 though paquebot informed me that Yangju had basically put the reserves out for this one. Goyang went 0-3 down in about 30 mins with their usual midfield and defensive naivety and subbed the goalie off for the better one and put one of the Ghanaian lads on, which made a difference. Goyang at least had a few shots. We witnessed a Goyang goal which now makes us one of the few people on the planet that have ever seen one; They're rarer than a seat on the subway. Mistake in the Yangju defence and the Ghanaian boy is 1 on 1 to go around the goalie and slot it home much to the delight of the two Bee Gees and Lulu - the Goyang Glee Club's three representatives this week, wearing matching Goyang polo shirts and acting nervously around paquebot in his Yangju yellow. 1-3 at half-time where K3 witnessed its second ever marriage proposal as paquebot and his girlfriend basically agreed to marry at some point in the future - and they say romance is dead! I was honoured and embarrassed to be there to be honest....especially as I was also at K3's first marriage proposal when a drunken bloke proposed to Gyeongmaman at the 'Buk before realising he was a) a man and b) a foreigner. Worst thing was Gyeongmaman said yes!

Two more soft goals conceded in the second half but Goyang did make the goalie make some saves and scored a legit goal at the end which somehow resulted in a goal kick and then Yangju went up the other end and scored an undeserved 6th in injury time. Somebody had a bet on.

paquebot and I parted company agreeing that I should post something about a meet up for K3 threaders.....so we need to fix something up. He gave me a K3 book too - better late than never and much appreciated. He's also going to do some digging in his back collection to see if the Reverend Cho - who I've been calling Choi - of Martyrs fame is the one who is now Goyang's chairman....I feel sure it is! Intrigue!

Sadly..

there is a rumor that Goyang Cityhall where is angry at Goyang's league position will stop their financial support on Goyang..

So Goyang may not be able to participate in next season..

Where is your next destination, MartyrsForever?

It won't be Seoul United I can tell you that!

Actually paquebot and I came up with a plan that the National League merging with the best teams in K3 for the K3 Advanced might be a competitive league so I might choose a team from there.....unless the Martyrs bounce back into K3 Basic to play against your filthy zebras.

MartyrsForever is clearly a jinx, first Martyrs disappear, then Goyang and who knows what other teams he's been jinxing in between.

They'll have the pitchforks sharpened if you ever declare yourself a Yangju fan, MF.

Mind you, there isn't really an obvious N-league team to support for Seoulites. I guess Cheonan would be the easiest to get to if you like very long subway rides, but there are all a good way out of the capital.
Bring back King Cha.

If Mipo don't end up in Ansan (or is it Dokdo this week.. I've lost track) then Seoul Mipo Dockyard would solve that particular problem.

Actually, you aren't the first to say this. I am known as the Kiss of Death in certain circles....I haven't wholly given up on a Martyrs return to the K3 Basic - they'll be begging for clubs to join that one. I think the K3 Advanced made up of the top half of K3 and the N-League would be a good league to watch...I'll wait and see who's in there before deciding who to lay the KOD on.

If I went to the Zebs, do you think I could make them extinct? Might be worth it....

FInal round of fixtures today. I couldn't be bothered with Hwaseong....my attachment to Goyang is only enough for home games. Pocheon will top the league if they win. The Buyeo - Cheongju game is interesting. The winner will be in the play-offs for the Basic/Advanced lottery but the losers will be in the Basic with the creme de la crap. Weirdly, or in a fix worthy of Asian bookies, Siheung play Gyeongju which will also decide who is definitely in Advanced and who has to go into the league split play-offs.

Yangju Citizen v Jungnang
Hwaseong v Goyang Citizen
Yangpyeong v Pocheon
Paju Citizen v Pyeongchang
Seoul United v Cheongju City
Gimpo v Chuncheon
Chunnam Youngkwang v Uijeongbu
Icheon Citizen v Jeonju
Buyeo v Cheongju FC
Gyeongju v Siheung

The play-off shenanigans start next week I think.

Round 19 Results

[181] Yangju 3:3 Seoul Jungnang
[182] Hwaseong 3:2 Goyang
[183] Yangpyeong 2:5 Pocheon
[184] Paju 6:1 Pyeongchang
[185] Seoul United 1:6 Cheongju City
[186] Gimpo 5:1 Chuncheon
[187] Jeonnam Yeonggwang 1:3 Uijeongbu :smt102
[188] Icheon 5:0 Jeonju
[189] Buyeo 2:2 Cheongju
[190] Gyeongju 2:1 Siheung

A couple of interesting results in there. Goyang were down 3:0 heading into the last 10 minutes of the match before scoring twice to make the score respectable. You missed out, Martyrs Forever!

An even bigger surprise is Uijeongbu winning their very first match of the season, leading 2:0 at the half before conceding but not collapsing and then scoring a third near the end of the match. You then have the expected high scores from the top trio of Pocheon, Gimpo, and Cheongju, along with Paju returning to their form from last season. Icheon pummeled fifth-placed Jeonju. Interesting result there, as a win for Jeonju would have moved them up into fourth. They must be afraid of heights?

I thought Yangju's match started at 5pm like usual but since it's the last round they actually kicked off at 3pm. Nothing like pulling into the parking lot to see everyone leaving. Probably good that I didn't see the match, as I would have been pissed. Yangju were leading 3-1 and looked set to win by that scoreline until Jungnang scored in the 89th and 90th minutes to salvage a point. Probably cheated like they did last season. :finger

Finally, here are the top scorers from the regular season:

[01] 김성민 - Gimpo - 20 goals - 17 matches
[02] 이선기 - Icheon - 14 goals - 18 matches
[03] 이행수 - Yangju - 13 goals - 15 matches
[04] 유동규 - Yangpyeong - 13 goals - 17 matches
[05] 노대호 - Hwaseong - 12 goals - 16 matches
In Yangju, if your cabbage doesn't understand you and you have valid reason for not eating it, then it is ok to go to other vegetables for your kimchi - though strictly nothing from south of Namyangju. -- Martyrs Forever

Yangpyeong 2:5 Pocheon
Seoul United 1:6 Cheongju City
Gimpo 5:1 Chuncheon

That is 16 goals for and 4 against for the top three teams. O.o

Jeonnam Yeonggwang 1:3 Uijeongbu :finger Is a winless season so much to ask for? We haven't had one since last season!
There are two routes to success in football. One is being good. The other is being lucky. You need both to win a championship. But you need only one to win a match.
