Siheung and Andong

Postby SeoulUtd » Thu Jul 23, 2015 3:48 pm

Two clubs are going to participate in K3 League 2016.

Andong Citizen FC (안동시민축구단) already got their money from local government. 450M won. This is similar with Pochun and considering that they are new-born team, their real yearly money will be around 200M. Not so bad. They will use Andong Citizen Stadium. (안동시민운동장)

However, Siheung Citizen FC (시흥시민축구단) is having difficulty with their team-making process. They gave their money to 'Unlincensed Foreign Manager'-who must be one of ROKfootball member. And their plan that making their independce from Cityhall was proved that it was a piece of shit. In spite of this problems, they just keep going and maybe they can participate too. Their home stadium is Jeongwang Sports park (정왕동체육공원)- just common local small stadium with 500 seats and athletic tracks.

Sound about right. Fess up! Who took their money?!

From the arial view on DAUM Maps is looks like the little ground is going to need some work before it will be usable.

There are two routes to success in football. One is being good. The other is being lucky. You need both to win a championship. But you need only one to win a match.

That's pretty funny about Siheung.. the whole 'scam a load of folk by pretending to start a Korean football club' thing has been done before, but I reckon it must be one of us if it was a foreign bloke scamming a K3 side. Who's going to confess? Going by that previous scam thread mustoe seemed particularly interested, he was back over in Korea earlier this month and I reckon his K3 Bucheon catchphrase competition win could easily have corrupted him...

Andong is a good place for a club...double it up with a trip to the Hahoe Folk Village there. Went to the mask festival once and to be honest wasnt overly fussed but went to the village another time when it was deserted and it was pretty cool.

If mustoe was back in Korea why on Earth didn't he stop in here to say hello? Or has he moved up in the world now to bigger and better things, like some latter day John Duerden? Either that or he's keeping a low profile so as not to draw attention to a scam...

Not sure whether or not this chap is the "unlicenced foreign manager" referred to in the original post and he has in fact gone and got himself a licence, or if it is someone completely different, but Siheung have hired a Spanish bloke called Kiki Linero to be the club's inaugural manager. He was involved in a whole load of promotional meet and greet events over the past ten days or so so seems to be the real deal. He's no stranger to Korean football having worked for FC Seoul as a scout and also as assistant manager of their U20 side.

Pyeongtaek look like they're going to get a team on the go for 2016 as well. The article mentions their aim of joining the K3, but then it also mentions "프로축구단" and "프로축구 3부 리그".. they wouldn't be professional if they were in the K3, would they? And surely the K3 is the 4부 리그 anyway. But K3 it most probably is, if they're actually serious about it. Holding their press conference in a galbi restaurant isn't a good sign...

Is the KFA looking at freezing out the National League? I'm sure its happened in the past, and is currently happening in the US with NASL.
