Some imagination...pity I missed him in action.

For us stationed in the south of Korea K3 is an impossibility but this thread has made me wish that Changwon might start one up.

Reading this on the subway, people are giving me some well deserved strange looks at my failed attempts to stop laughing. :)

Changwon: 35.2279° N
Youngkwang: 35.2750° N

The south of Korea has a team, it's just located on the opposite coast.
Busan, Changwon, and Gimhae all have teams playing at other levels, maybe situate a team in Jinju as well? Plenty of inspiration for a club badge -- the Republic of Korea Air Force Education and Training Command, Jinju Castle and the Imjin War, bull fighting ...

Met jpbaptista and think I saw SeoulUtd at the Seoul United - Cheongju match today. Two goals from the visitors but they could have had several more if their finishing was a tad better. Looked like a brawl was about to start near the end of the match but we only saw a bit of shoving before the referee calmed things down. Oddly enough that scoreline still isn't up on the JoinKFA site despite all the others being listed.

Gimpo won their group on goal difference. Gimpo +59, Hwaseong +29. Hwaseong fans will probably be furious their team couldn't put more past Martyrs in the deluge that was their 25 July match. (Ended 0:3 to Hwaseong)

Round 25 Results

ㅡA조ㅡ
Pocheon 10:1 Seoul Martyrs :smt102 Martyrs scored against Pocheon! :smt102
Cheonan 0:3 Paju
Pyeongchang 2:0 Gyeongju
Jeonju 2:4 Uijeongbu
Off: Icheon

ㅡB조ㅡ
Goyang 1:4 Hwaseong
Gimpo 0:0 Chuncheon
Seoul United 0:2 Cheongju
Youngkwang 0:1 Yangju
Off: Jungnang

In Yangju, if your cabbage doesn't understand you and you have valid reason for not eating it, then it is ok to go to other vegetables for your kimchi - though strictly nothing from south of Namyangju. -- Martyrs Forever

Yeah, Gimpo beat them 28-0, so it wasn't all Martyrs fault that the Gimps won the group, but mostly their fault.

I think if they had needed a win today they could have probably got one, but 0-0 suited them well enough.

Met jpbaptista

Hang on....did jpbaptista end up going to the Zebras?! WTF?!

Changwon: 35.2279° N
Youngkwang: 35.2750° N

Only paquebot could answer with coordinates!

Another season over for the Martyrs. Will it be our last ever game?! That's one of two big questions for the off-season. The other being: Are the layabouts of ROK football forum going to actually take over a club and FC United of Manchester our asses up the pyramid?

(not sure how the quoting works)

Seoul Utd: I was there yesterday, and I must say you have a nice, cosy stadium! I sat just next to the exit but saw the 'ultras' doing a good job  next time I'll sit closer to you guys and make contact.

paquebot: Great meeting you yesterday! Your football knowledge in general is impressive, and love for the K3, the stadiums, relocations, league structure, history, and other details surprised me. A humble professor that gave me a great intro to the K3! Now I'm looking forward to visiting other venues, starting with all of those covered by the Seoul metro...

Martyrs forever: What can we expect from someone (wife) who finds it great to walk around in shopping malls, looking at clothes and other rubbish for a whole afternoon? I was really looking forward to seeing the SM (just realised it can stand for Seoul Martyrs and sado-masochism, which makes sense...) but because I hadn't realised the match was away I ended up going to the rival's stadium to spy on their team, taking notes thoroughly that will be faxed to the SM manager

Enjoy the post-season, everybody!

I'll try to go to one or two matches, and will let you know about my whereabouts.

Might be similar latitudes but only about 300 kms. away....might stick to the Kleague challenge.

Changwon did have a K3 team for a season a long time ago but it folded....also noted Samcheok had a team from 2007-2010, a bit out of the way (been there three times though for the snow crabs). Did anyone ever see a game there?

Edit: Looks a couple made the effort ... http://forum.rokfootball.com/viewtopic.php?nomobile=1&f=19&t=2143&p=32443&hilit=samcheok#p32443

I'm predicting a Pocheon-Paju final. Bastards!

@changwonmatty - Piggy and Sampo have been everywhere! Piggy probably made it to the local high school tournament and walked up about six mountains too....

Piggy is a man possessed! Made the 48 plus the basket ball plus the baseball (the reserve league as well!) and all the national park!

Sheez! I don't come to the forum for a week and suddenly there are two pages full of K3 posts?! I have work to do, people! I cant sit here all day reading this!

paquebot wrote:MartyrsForever and Gyongmaman cheer for Martyrs, SeoulUtd supports Seoul United, SteveW has taken a fancy to Jungnang, I'm a fan of Yangju, OttoSilver regularly reads this thread but I'm not sure what team he feels strongest about (Icheon?), and RothesaySaint gets to various K3 matches throughout the season..

I lived in Icheon for a long time, so I have a soft spot for them, but I have kind of become a Zebra because of their AFC Wimbledon like history. (Don't even TRY to mention my other team here!) I have been to quite a few martyrs matches as well, because, you know, MARTYRS. Next year I want to do more K3ing and might follow the Zebras around a bit as an excuse to visit new venues.

paquebot wrote:It's worth taking information from soccerway with a grain of salt. They've had incorrect scorelines on their website a time or two in the past.

I've written them a few times, usually because they don't always grasp how the league splits and stuff work. To be fair to them though, we are here and half the time we don't know either. I mean, half points people.

Depending on what else might be happening on that day, I might head to the Hwaseong game in the 31st. It is close enough. I've never been to Paju or Yangju, so I would seriously consider the long trek to either if they make it to the next round. Gimpo is very likely since I've never been there. T leaves Pocheon. Do I really want to do that all over again? (If I can get decent information about which brand of Pocheon makgeolli is worth drinking, then I might go :) )
There are two routes to success in football. One is being good. The other is being lucky. You need both to win a championship. But you need only one to win a match.

Yeah! Great, Otto! Being a Zebra is a great thing.

You can sing with drunken Ajjusis and get a can of beer for free maybe :)

Forgot to mention it earlier in the season, but Chuncheon FC rolled out a new badge for 2015:
