2014/15 K3 League Off Season

Postby OttoSilver » Mon Dec 15, 2014 4:44 pm

The new manager at United has a Doctorate in Football. Initially I thought it was just specialized Sports management, as doctorates tend to be, and for fun went a searching on the interwebs. I found [this]. I think a few of us need to get this. Since there is no way I will ever be allowed anywhere close to a pitch where people do actual training I think I'll have to pick one up for myself. :)

But it gets better. You don't even have to get a fake version. SeoulUtd says said manager is the head of the football department at Howon University, and even provides a link to an interview in which he talks about his doctorate. Me things we should just sign up en mass and take over management in the K League. We already know how to do it, this forum proves it. Getting the papers will just be a formality. :smt109

My PhD thesis is 'The psychological and social effects of Korean alcohol and watching some of the worst football on the planet on the health of middle-aged men.'

That reminds me, I need to interview everybody here...unstructured interviews, obviously.....at the ground.....over a few beers....you know....gives the study context...

This will build on my two previously published articles, both in the Journal of Fucked-Up Life Studies:

'Football and Religion: When a bad idea turns good' and 'Cass and Soju: When a bad idea turns worse'...

That doctorate is mine! University of Gangbuk, baby!!!!

So do I! What's the prize? Is there a ROK Personality of the Year event? I'm more than happy to be flown up and put up in a luxury hotel....

In Yangju, if your cabbage doesn't understand you and you have valid reason for not eating it, then it is ok to go to other vegetables for your kimchi - though strictly nothing from south of Namyangju. -- Martyrs Forever

No more DAUM? As in "DAUM K3 League", or something?

I read that Goyang FC have signed two Senegalese players but I've not heard names or anything, or indeed ant actual confirmation that they have signed foreign players. SeoulUtd, any ideas?

Also rumours that Seoul United and Uijeongbu have or are about to sign some foreign chaps also.

Oh I forgot this forum for a while..

There was an official announcement by KFA that three foreigners cam be in roster and two can play in game. (I can't guess whether only two player can be in game or three players can be play in match by changing foreigner with foreigner.)

And Goyang got two Senegalese named William and Adou. United also testing Liberian from Thai League. Jeonju is going to get two East Timor players. You guys will know them. Marianus and Alves.

Any idea who the Liberian player is? I've done a wee bit of sleuthing on Google and it could be Melvin Kicmett who was playing for a lower league Thai side.

If any other Korean sides are considering signing any more foreign players from the Thai leagues they could do a lot worse than looking at 2014 second tier top scorer Mark Landry Babo, if only to see how many people buy replica shirts with his name on the back :-)

Bringing Babo to Korea will be just mean. You cant do that to someone

Having said that, I would be willing to stand in line for one of them there replica shirts

One good things is that scouts might realise that Brazil is not the only country that plays football at a lower level. Hopefully one or two of the Africans can shine and catch the eye of a higher league team.
