Who, what, when, why.. what? Foreign blokes for the Martyrs? A Spaniard, Yank and Chinese player? Is one of them stinkysocks?

(From a bloke on the I Love Soccer Daum café):
올해부터 3명등록에 2명출전 할 수 있어요. 그레서 서울 마르티스(스페인,미국,중국국적) 선수 3명 대려왔고 고양시민축구단은 세네갈선수 2명 영입 의정부FC도 외국인선수 영입 한다네요.

Right I've done some sleuthing and I've found the names of the three foreign Martyrs. We have 데이빗 (David... RothesaySaint?!) who is a defender, 하이메 (Jaime?) who is a midfielder and 사아드 who also plays in midfield. I'm going to presume David is the American and Jaime is the Spaniard.. if 사아드 is Chinese I can't quite figure out what that name would be. Now to figure out surnames and where they played before :)

사아드, Saad would be about right for a Martyrs player. More of a longing, wistful "saaaaad", than a short abrupt "sad". :smt088 :smt089

So, the Saad dude is a Saudi? IS vs Martyrs. Between a rock and a hard place.
There are two routes to success in football. One is being good. The other is being lucky. You need both to win a championship. But you need only one to win a match.

It could well be me. I certainly tick all the boxes - I can run a bit, I'm Christian, I'm happy to give up my Saturday evenings in return for some ramyeon, I've no talent for football whatsoever. Only problems I can see is how the Silent One is going to communicate with me. And how much abuse from the sidelines I'll be able to take before I do a Haircare.
Bring back King Cha.

12 seconds of the finest ROKFootball Forum abuse and you'd be up in the stands and banned sine die.

Which is probably a good thing because it would take at least 13 seconds to work out that you can't play football.

There's some real Martyr bashing going on here, which combined with some Zebra-lovin' on the other thread is making me angry!

I'd be loving Rothesay in the midfield in his German hiker get-up!

On the one hand, us getting some foreigners signals intent but on the other, it's more likely that once again our naivety towards the modern world means we are getting duped by some dodgy agent type that befriend Gyeongmaman on the sidelines and getting some of the shittest players to ever play the game. We are a club run on the Christian ideals of the 1400s which doesn't fit the modern game.

It probably does mean you can burn the opposition centre-halves at the stake for blasphemy or witchcraft though. Swings and roundabouts.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Martyrs this season now...after watching Seoul Utd I'm interested to see just how much worse K3 can get....

K3 doesn't get any worse than Seoul United... even Martyrs can beat them :-)

Everyone loves Martyrs. How can you not? (Except SeoulUtd. He hates everything that is not black and white) If Martyrs had an actual shirt I would have bought one by now, but unfortunately I didn't have the time last season to electric tape a name and number onto the back of a neon shirt.
