I see Martyrs are off to a namely start.
Pocheon 7 - 0 Martyrs

I think they were scared by Pocheon's support...

There are two routes to success in football. One is being good. The other is being lucky. You need both to win a championship. But you need only one to win a match.

Have Pocheon been steeling some supporters or have you just had one too many cabbages?

7-0 away at Pocheon has got to go down as a decent result for the Martyrs. :)
Bring back King Cha.

I will be at my first ever Challengers game next weekend. Seoul United hosting my Korean home town, Icheon.
(If anyone is interested in joining me, just shout. I'll be geeking out on board games directly after that though)

Martyrs Forever, I'm keeping an eye out for a chance to go to a Martyrs home game where I will get at least 1 great action shots, just for you.

** The Martyrs do look glorious next to the China Dragons ice hockey team. They have gone 5 seasons in the (professional) Asia League now with nothing but losses. That is 192 losses. The did manage to win one game 7 seasons ago, making it at best 1 win in 234 games

Pohang ≠ Pocheon, mate.

Scores from Saturday:
Gyeongju 1-0 Seoul United
Paju 0-1 Cheonan
Icheon 1-1 Jungnang Chorus
Pocheon 7-0 Seoul Martyrs
Chuncheon 2-3 Yangju
Gimpo 3-2 Jeonju
Youngkwang 0-1 Cheongju

Monday:
Gwangju - Hwaseong
In Yangju, if your cabbage doesn't understand you and you have valid reason for not eating it, then it is ok to go to other vegetables for your kimchi - though strictly nothing from south of Namyangju. -- Martyrs Forever

The Legal Eagles scabbed a draw and the Cabbage-munchers won?! It's bleak! Pocheon is a tough place to go and get three points though.

Look on the bright side - the Zebras lost. :D

How many of the Martyrs players do you think are left over from last season? Having a completely new line-up could explain how Pocheon managed to sneak so many past God's Own.

I'm not at all happy about these upstarts, the Chinese Martyrs claiming responsibility for the Malaysian plane crash.

Is there a Seoul clash on the cards this season, Bible Basher?

There is! Two in fact. 10th May in Church and 11th October at Fortress Nowon.

Bring it on!

I read that there was an estimated crowd of around 2,000 at the Gimpo-Jeonju game... probably wildly exaggerated but there are some photos showing a decent turnout at that game. Was looking to see if there was anything to say whether or not the foreign blokes turned out for Jeonju but it doesn't look like they did. I did though find this article from today stating that Jeonju Citizen's Kim Do-hyung has transferred to Chinese second division side Yanbian FC. Not content with raiding the K-League for talent, the Chinese are now targeting the lower leagues as well...

Yanbian FC sound like they might be an ethnic Korean side.

Yanbian Baekdu Tigers F.C. does have a Korean ring to it.

For those keeping track at home, Monday night's match finished Gwangju 0-1 Hwaseong.

The KFA website has a new piece up stating that the regular season will run until October 18th, with play-offs running from November 8th to November 29th. Sounds like the play-offs will follow the same format as last year.
