They've signed a man called Alison based on a good Wikipedia page. It's the future of scouting!

My favourite ever Korean football Alison was the Alison that used to play for Ulsan and Daejeon. Don't remember him being good for anything other than the bright purple hair he used to have which may have looked alright for the ninety minutes he played on the pitch for Daejeon but must have scared an ajumma or two at E-Mart during the week.

Just looked him up for a quick check to see what he's up to now (Wiki page here) and it would appear that despite being just 32 years old he hasn't played for anyone since 2007. I love that, 63 K-League appearances for two clubs between 2002-2005, and also a spell at Omiya Ardija as well, but his only other professional experience is apparently having been contracted to Brazilian club Marília for the whole time he was on loan in the J1. Given that even the shittest footballer will have someone somewhere interested enough to actually compile a list of all the diddy teams they've played for on a Wikipedia page then I can only surmise that he was a complete chancer of Ali Dia proportions who somehow managed to con three East Asian clubs into giving him loads of playing time when in actual fact he was a plumber or postman who sent his CV off to them for a laugh and got lucky.

The National League is back after a near two month break (and not forgetting the wonderful National League Cup too). Gyeongju picked up a great 2-1 win over Ulsan Mipo today to remain top of the standings, good win for Busan as well to keep pace with them in second.

July 18/19 results
Gyeongju HNP 2-1 Ulsan Mipo
Changwon 2-3 Busan TC
Yongin 0-1 Daejeon Korail
Gimhae 0-1 Cheonan

Mokpo are currently drawing 1-1 with Gangneung in the 5pm kick off.

That Changwon vs. Busan game looked like a cracking one for the visitors. Down 2-0 early in the second half, they manage to get goals in the 10th 41st and 44th minutes with Changwon player getting sent off late in the second half with two yellows only 3 mins apart from each other.... perhaps some dodgy refereeing. Anyone seen that game on here?

Busan and Daejeon played out a 1-1 draw in the Lokomotiv derby last night which doesn't really help either side out as it has allowed Gyeongju and Ulsan Mipo to move away slightly at the top of the standings. Ulsan Mipo's Gu Sang-min has become the first goalkeeper to score a goal in National League history, he netted Mipo's fourth five minutes into the second half

Gimhae City FC has signed French defender, Ugo Gostisbehere, from Bordeaux B on a 4 month contract. He made his debut from the bench today in the 2-1 lost against Gangneung City.

Yea! A not Brazilian player! :albino:
There are two routes to success in football. One is being good. The other is being lucky. You need both to win a championship. But you need only one to win a match.

With the K2 and Challengers league is the N-League starting to wane or is it just because Charlie isn't there anymore that it appears that way?

That's probably a large part of it.. they killed it for me by moving my team and the loss of a number of sides to the K2 hasn't helped either. In an ideal world the half-decent sides such as Mipo, Busan TC, Korail, Gangneung, Cheonan and the Isotopes would be moved into the K2 and the rest would be dispersed throughout regionalised K3 League sections as part of a full working pyramid system. That's not to say the National League doesn't serve a purpose right now but if they're serious about getting promotion and relegation working all the way through the divisions then the league almost definitely has to go (or be shunted out to the side to operate on a standalone basis).

What a time for Yongin to notch up just their second win of the campaign. Gyeongju dropped points away to Gimhae as well so that gives Busan TC the chance to get right back into the title race if they can beat Gangneung today.

August 22 results
Changwon 1-2 Cheonan
Daejeon Korail 2-0 Mokpo
Ulsan Mipo 1-2 Yongin
Gimhae 2-2 Gyeongju HNP

No win for Busan then as they drew 1-1 away to Gangneung. Two wins in nine for Busan after a decent start to the campaign, but they're not totally out of the running yet:

Yeah brilliant set of results for Korail with their three main title challengers all losing. Yongin have managed just two clean sheets all season, one was a 0-0 draw with league leaders Gyeongju and now this second away to Busan.
