Foreign players in the National League

Postby Holyjoe » Thu Feb 04, 2010 9:30 pm

Mipo have confirmed the signing of a 22 year-old Brazilian forward by the name of Marcos Vinicius Dos Santos Rose (비니시우스). He had been playing for Primeira Camisa in "Campeonato Paulista Serie B, the fourth level of the Sao Paulo state professional football championship, one of the Brazilian state championships". Mipo are off to Jeju for a couple of weeks now, and the boss is still looking at adding one or two more foreign players to the squad before the season starts.

Neat! Didn't think we'd ever see this day, as noises have made about foreigners joining since the old K2-League days.

They've now added a second Brazilian bloke, a 22 year-old striker called 알렉스 (Alexandre Egea) who had also been playing for Primeira Camisa.

It seems that KaKa is off the roster in Bucheon, here's hoping he finds a paying gig in Korea.

Suwon City have now signed the National League's third foreign player as they've signed a 23 year-old Brazilian called Reginaldo de Souza, who will be known in the league as 나우징요 - he'll make his Suwon City debut in the FA Cup "Suwon Derby" clash on July 21st.

Marcos Vinicius Dos Santos Rose has left Ulsan Mipo, but they've replaced him by a Brazilian forward called Danilo - not much else is known about him other than he was most recently playing in the third division of the Sao Paulo state league set-up and he was apparently the second-top scorer for his team there. Alexandre Egea will remain with the club for 2011.

Urgh. A constant thorn in our side last season.

Ansan Hallelujah have now become the third National League side to sign a foreign player - they've brought in a 28 year-old Argentine midfielder called Emmanuel Frances. After a wee bit of digging, it appears he most recently played for Club Atletico San Telmo in "the regionalised third tier of Argentine football".

Hmmm... does this mean the Christian club still has ambitions of promotion to the K-League? :smt006

Reginaldo de Souza has left Suwon City so there will be three foreigners in the National League for 2011 - Alexandre Egea, Danilo and Emmanuel Frances.

This Danilo chap is decent (!) enough to have his own Wikipedia page and an agent-produced video on YouTube.
