Re: 2017 summer transfers

Not much movement in terms of managers this season and then two leave within 24 hours of each other. Choi Yoon-kyum has chucked it at Gangwon and Nam Ki-il at Gwangju, both citing poor results as the reason for stepping down. Not good news for Niall McGinn at Gwangju...

Re: Kim Roman (김로만)

Missed this one but he's currently on loan at National League side Gangneung City from Pohang Steelers.. he's played quite a bit for them this season, was involved in the penalty shootout that Gangneung won against Ansan Greeners in the FA Cup as well.

Re: 2017 K3 League Advanced (D4) season

Won a bag of rice from the halftime raffle plus had a player bring me over some Pocari Sweat. Would have preferred a victory, to be a honest. What a brilliant raffle prize, sod winning a car or a large cash sum... I hope Niall McGinn appreciates these little things that make Korean football so great.

Re: Europe general 2017/18

Thank goodness for Aberdeen upholding the honour and dignity of Scottish football on the European scene. With St. Johnstone going out to some Lithuanian part-timers, The Rangers achieving the not inconsiderable feat of having notched up the same number of UEFA fines as European ties competed in, and...

Re: European groundhopping thread

I'm quite low on numbers as well, plenty of games in total but not many countries.. Scotland, England, Ireland, France, Belgium, Austria, Czech Republic off the top of my head.

Europe general 2017/18

Rangers. Ha-fucking-hahahahahahahahaha. Rangers knocked out of Europa League by Luxembourg part timers July 4, 2017 Rangers suffered one of the worst results in their history as they were knocked out of the Europa League qualifiers by Luxembourg minnows Progres Niederkorn. The Ibrox side took a 1-0 ...

McGinn signs. Four months until relegation then he'll probably be off again.

Re: 2017 K3 League Basic (D5) season

I can't wait for my three to all grow up and move out so I can get back to the important business of discussing what the Buyeo FC reserve left back had for breakfast on the day of his team's away match to Chuncheon...

2017 summer transfers

"Good Korea move", "major payday", "huge stadium", "serious money being invested over there" etc.. the Scottish media have been rolling out all the stock phrases with Northern Irish international Niall McGinn being linked with a move to Gwangju following his d...

Re: When will Stielike get sacked?

His beef should be with the K-League rather than the KFA over that so he's still good for the national team job.

Huh Jung-moo's name does keep getting mentioned through all of this though...

Re: Seoul satellite city trying to land pro football club at new stadium

It won't be Yongin E-Land, it'll be Yongin SK instead. Reports are that Jeju United have been approached to relocate to this new stadium and seem up for it (why would they not be?).

Re: When will Stielike get sacked?

I did wonder whether Choi Yong-soo would be a possibility, won the league and FA Cup with FC Seoul and also ACL runners up, conveniently just been fired by Jiangsu so readily available to take the job. Not exactly a stellar resume though as it started well at Seoul then kind of petered out, didn't r...

Re: When will Stielike get sacked?

Technical committee meeting tomorrow, media reports suggesting that he'll get the boot then and his recently appointed assistant Jung Hae-sung (Hiddink's mate, former Bucheon/Jeju and Jeonnam manager) will take charge on an interim basis until a permanent appointment is made. I suppose that comes fr...
