I was asking some Steaua-supporting friends about him on Saturday, but they said he was as well-known for his drinking as his football in Bucharest. They had much better things to say about Hamza, but I guess he's not coming now.

Re: After the K-League...

Denis Laktionov appears to be spending his retirement playing in the second division of Seoul's Saturday expat league. I noticed the name a few weeks back and his picture certainly looks like the Denis Laktionov (you have to be a registered player to see the picture properly). A friend who faced his...

Re: 06/09/13 and 10/09/13 friendlies

A couple of late dropouts means I've got two spare tickets for tonight's game. If any has last minute plans to come along or wants to avoid queuing on the night, you welcome to come and sit with a couple of other ROKforumers and I.

PM me or my number is 010-3288-1203, if you're interested.

Re: Friendly v Peru (14/08/13 in Suwon)

I've been at all of Hong's first four matches and Korea have been the better side in all each (although Japan probably played a much smarter game than Korea in the EA Cup-decider). In every game, particularly in the first halves, they've been the better side and been denied by combination of poor fi...

I finish a little late in the afternoon (4pm), but am keen to get down to Hwaseong for that one.

Re: 2013 Asian Indoor Championships

The games only last 40mins (2 x 20s), but they're quite stop-start and there's still a 15-min half-time. I'd guess about 12.

2013 Asian Indoor Championships

As a precursor to next year's Asian Games, Incheon is currently hosting the Asian Indoor Games. Among the kabbadi, kurash (no, me neither), and billiards, there's also been a futsal tournament going on and it all concludes tomorrow. Korea made it to the quarter-finals, but won't be contesting any of...

Re: 2013 National League Cup

I made it out to the game and Korail were utterly dominant. The three goals from outside the box were all superb. I wrote a blog post about my trip if anyone is interested.

Re: Why so few South Koreans in Europe?

Is it really that big a problem? There are 5 in England (although Park's not done much at QPR and Yoon hasn't featured there at all), and there are three playing regularly in Germany, with a young fourth getting a few chances off the bench. Park Chu Young started against Barcelona on Saturday and Su...

The 22 Club Cycle Challenge

I'm looking for a bit of help. Since Christmas, I've had this idea about using my two-week holiday in late-October/early-November to cycle around the peninsula. I later thought it would be cool to try to visit the 21 K-League (Classic & Challenge) grounds, and perhaps even do it for charity. Rig...

Re: Incheon's recent record?

It's two defeats in 25 top-flight games for Incheon; Gangwon and Suwon (end of July).

Last time we suffered back-to-back defeats was a little under a year ago (last April) to Sangju then Ulsan.

It's early days, but those numbers are encouraging for a top-half finish if that form can be maintained.

Re: 2013 KLeague Classic R1

The big Serbian looks like a fantastic transfer....what james said above sums it up well, all huff but nobody up front to finish. Hopefully we can sign that Serbian striker that is lurking around the club. BTW...Incheon's foreigner Diego looks bloody hopeless. Didnt make one meaningful contribution...

Re: 2013 New kit thread

I don't think Incheon have ever had a truly great kit and this new one carries on in the same form. That said, this is better than most recent efforts- especially the last one. Less impressed by the rumoured new signing.

Re: 2012-13 close season transfer thread

Incheon's two Brazilian signings are listed both listed as forwards on the club's website. Diogo will be wearing #10 and Cia (or Thiago, apparently) will take #11. Either it's a misprint or there's still no obvious partner for Lee Yun-Pyo (still there in the #16 jersey) at the back. If you can read ...
