Re: Tragic News

Shocking news. Just caught up with him midweek in Changwon. Sounded like he has a great few months ahead of him.

Hope you recover quickly, Evergreen

Re: Useful Korean football links

Twitter accounts:

@GyeongnamFC - Official club account

@KORFootballNews - K-League and National team news in English. Probably not official account, but I'm not sure.

@PohangENG - Pohang news in English. Given that user name is 'Billy Morrison' I'll stick my neck out & say unofficial account.

Re: Advertising games in the K League.

jeonbuk marketing is dead. i dont live in jeonju, but when i go there, i hardly see any more than in iksan. they will advertise a seoul or suwon match and give away a car. there is a bus or two with it on there. i feel like the organization is ignoring problems and continuing to just follow what th...

Re: 2013 AFC Champions League

Buriram chairman Newin Chidchob hits back at Attapon, saying he's been making the substitution calls for 3 years, not just the Seoul game. Now says key players have asked at least twice this season for a change of coach. Quote of the day " I'm the head of the head coach.... He is my assistant&q...

Re: 2013 AFC Champions League

While I understand the reasons for the dislike of Seoul on here, I don't care/follow the local scene enough to muster the same hatred. However, after they rested almost their entire first team tonight to allow a bunch of dirty, cheating ****s from Buriram to progress, I'm starting to get on board (...

Re: Empty stadiums

Went to the ACL game at Jeonbuk on Weds, and was surprised at the small crowd (approx 4500). Yes it's a shit of a ground to get to, and it was midweek, and there were only 6 away fans, but.... this is one of Korea's biggest and most successful teams, playing at home in the continent's most prestigio...

Re: Empty stadiums

Euro-snobbery? It's not the EPL, after all.

(Though wouldn't the KBL/MBL argument be similar? Not a baseball fan, so wouldn't have a clue)

Anyone know why Gyeongnam's fixtures against Jeju, Suwon & Daejeon have been moved? Can't be the pitch, as 2 of those are away games.

Re: Possible retires thies season

When Byeong-Ji was closing in on 600 games last season, I saw an interview where he said he also had the K-League age record in his sights. From memory, I think he needs to play into next season to crack it. Not the same interview, but same info included http://www.goal.com/en-sg/news/4738/korea/201...

Alex43, I'm definitely coming up for the Jeonbuk-Muang Thong game on Weds. I sent a DM with arrival time & phone number.

Pre-match drinks in town or at stadium?

Re: Changwon Football Centre's Pitch

I noticed it too but not to the degree that the league says it is. I noticed that there was heaps of sand being kickrd up in the game against pohang last round but dont think it overly effected the play. Could be good news for groundhoppers though as maybe the team might have to plsy eldewhere in G...

Re: K-League Classic 2013: Round 8

Anyone remember the Seoul goal from a few years back, it was given (disallowed?) about 5 minutes after it was scored. That was more pressure Bit hazy on the details, but I was at a Gyeongnam game in Haman around 2008, where a goal was scored (or disallowed). The aggrieved team protested, and after ...

Re: Changwon Football Centre's Pitch

What happened to the Club house & training centre in Haman?

That said, one of the first things we noticed at the 1st home match (v Busan) was that the pitch wasn't in great shape.
