Re: November 2013 friendlies

A victory against a World Cup seed is always a good result. Agreed. It's Hong's first good result against a decent side isn't it? The Swiss were looking to set a 113 year record of games undefeated if they had managed to avoid defeat. They were missing regular starters Shaqiri, Rodriguez, Djourou, ...

Re: 2012 Olympic Team

Congratulations for the bronze medal! Deserved it is, no doubt. Considering Korea's match against Mexico and Mexico's rather surprising victory against Brazil, even more could have been possible for the Taeguk Warriors. But Brazil was apparently the worst possible match-up for Korea... FT: With the ...

Re: 2012 Olympic Team

Brazil won clearly 3-0. At the beginning Korea played great, but the longer the game went on the stronger Brazil got. In the end even a 3-0 was not undeserved, even if Korea should have gotten two clear penalties. Who knows what would have happened if they had gotten that.... Apart from the last mat...

Re: 2012 Olympic Team

So apparently Morganella had a few afters with some Korean netizens on Twitter and has been sent home by the Swiss team. If you'd told me that one of the Swiss players had had a racist outburst after the match, he's precisely the guy I would've guessed. Don't know if that deserves a cheerio :smt006...

Re: 2012 Olympic Team

Korea played very well. For the biggest part of thy game, Mexico didn't stand a chance. To be fair, at the end Korea was lucky not to concede a goal though... I was surprised the coach didn't bring on Ji Dong-Won earlier in the game. I thought he could have made the difference in front of the goal. ...

Re: K-league 2012 - Round 23 (Midweek)

Oh shit I forgot they are not getting paid! Is Gyenongam FC in financial troubles or what is going on there? Otherwise a great result! I intend to watch their match at home against Chunnam Dragons while I am in Korea. I hope they keep their performance up! Edit: I've just seen the other thr...

Re: Hodgson for England

[ A bit schizophrenic about his German skills then. I was very impressed with Di Matteo speaking virtually native German on the TV. His English isn't bad either, better than Di Canio for sure. It's not very surprising that Di Matteo is fluent in German, considering that he was born and spent his ea...

Re: 2012 Olympic Football Tournament

GB could easily end up facing South Korea in Cardiff in the quarter-finals, although I'd be tempted to say South Korea should be aiming to win their group with a bit of luck. Switzerland have some decent flair players but I think the Koreans can cause a surprise here, particularly if Hong Myeong-bo...

Another goal by Koo Ja-Cheol this weekend. He has scored now four times in 10 matches since joining Augsburg. Hopefully he can keep that up and secure himself a fixed spot when rejoining Wolfsburg this summer...

Re: 2011 AFC Asian Cup

Koo Ja-Cheol one more goal, Ji Dong-Won two more. The goals were all quite nice. It seemed like an easy victory, but then Uzbekistan somehow managed two score two goals, which was supposed to make the match intersting again. However, Korea was from then on so scared that they didn't dare attacking a...

Re: Korea vs Japan, Asian Cup semi, 2011

According to several news report in Switzerland, Koo Ja-Cheol has indeed signed with BSC Young Boys Bern. It sounds as if they sealed the deal already before the start of the Asian Cup. Nice move by YB! :smt111 Koo's marekt value must have risen quite tremendously due to his outstanding performance ...

Re: Korea vs Japan, Asian Cup semi, 2011

I wasn't able to watch the match, I have only seen the best scenes on youtube ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCuvnq2NJbI ) The matched looked very interesting with good opportunities on both sides. It was really cruel and unlucky to go out like this... Especially if you see Australia winning the o...

Re: South Korea v India

Take a look here for the QF schedule . It seems that the first match played is in fact QF2. Indeed. Well, the set-up seems to have been done unnecessarily confusing. Well that means Korea will have the probably hardest way possible to reach the finals. The greater the challenge the greater the succ...
