Re: 2017 K-League Classic

I made my way down to Gwangyang for the POSCO derby. Pohang didn't deserve to win 3-1. Their three Brazilians all play from deep midfield. Muralha looks particularly uncomfortable crossing his own halfway line. Wanderson is technically a full-back but is often ahead of Muralha. Lulinha is a dirty pl...

Re: Europe general 2017/18

Lots of interesting things going on in the women's game at the moment. England's former coach, Mark Samson, is the subject of a parliamentary inquiry into alleged racial harassment, of Nigerian-born Eniola Aluko amongst others. He'd already been sacked by England for "unrelated" "inap...

Re: 2017 K-League Classic

I'd need a fairly detailed plan of who needs to be cleared out and what needs to be changed at grass roots before I wanted my team to miss the World Cup. Same with Scottish fans too I expect. We'll see what happens in the US.

Re: 2017 K3 League Basic (D5) season

I've never been in to volleyball and have zero interest in the men's game. But just watching KGC vs Hyundai in the women's league and I find out KGC have a former Miss Oregon in their team, Alaina Bergsma. http://s2.glbimg.com/ILPM7Cuqlf23t4PcsTqFhDETBzQ=/s.glbimg.com/es/ge/f/original/2013/09/08/ala...

Re: 2017 K-League Classic

I don't fully follow the logic of wishing your team doesn't qualify for the World Cup. They have half a year now to knock the team into some sort of shape before Russia 2018. They'd be doing well to get out of the group anyway and they're overdue being in a tough group. The game has been through ove...

Re: 2017 K3 League Advanced (D4) season

Thanks. Is there then a two week vacation period before the playoffs start on 29th October? I'm only here until the 24th and tomorrow might be a bit difficult.

Re: 2017 K3 League Advanced (D4) season

So I'm in Korea for the next week. How do I find out reliably about fixtures? It looks like a lot of leagues are going into playoff phases and a lot of the fixture lists are incomplete. When and where do the playoff matches get fixed? It should be easier to get to a football match than a baseball ga...

Whatever Scotland can do, the USA can do much, much better. It's just a universal law.

Re: 2018 World Cup qualification

A good example of why UEFA should've stuck with the old head-to-head tiebreaker rules in Group A. Sweden knock eight past hapless Luxembourg and now the Netherlands need to beat Sweden in their last match by seven goals to get past them on overall goal difference. Under the old rules a win would've ...

Re: 2017 K-League Classic

Have people just given up on football in Korea? The national team is uninspiring, the leagues are dull, K-League teams already long gone in the ACL, corruption, bribery, fake passports, treating foreigner players like dirt. The game is in a real state. Are people happy they qualified for the World C...

Re: 2018 World Cup qualification

Ahh, back in the good old days when Britain was too good for the World Cup. If I remember rightly at least Scotland did play a small part in the 1950 World Cup with the USA goalscorer in the 1-0 win over England being very familiar with the land of haggis and irn bru. Are you talking about the guy ...

Re: 2018 World Cup qualification

Yeah, not sure which route of not qualifying we are going to go down this time. The last minute Slovenian equalizer? Or maybe we'll go to the play offs and inevitably be drawn against Italy or Portugal. How about, if we're not British champions, we ain't going. That one takes some beating. Iceland ...

Whisper it very quietly, but Scotland are second in their group with only one match left to go.

Re: 2017 K-League Classic

Seven of the last nine K-League matches finished 1-1. The only team to have lost a match in the last two rounds is Jeonnam. The league is sleep-walking towards the split.
