Re: K-League in the IFFHS

Good thing the Saudi FA are sending absolutely every single person who has ever kicked a football in that country over to Spain this year as the K-League is in serious danger of being deposed as Asia's best league in the IFFHS world league rankings. Just one place and 2.5 points separate the two lea...

Re: I'm turning into my mum

I like it.. it incentivises losing just enough games not to be successful but at the same time winning the bare minimum to avoid total embarrassment. This is exactly what Scottish football has been looking for.

Re: After the K-League...

Niall McGinn back to his best after his Korean (mis)adventure... in almost any other game his goal yesterday (Aberdeen's third) would have been the absolute standout highlight but for the howitzer of a second from Scott McKenna.

Re: After the K-League...

I thought his spell at the Ferrets may have killed his managerial career but no, Martin Rennie has managed to find himself gainful employment with Indianapolis-based United Soccer League side Indy Eleven. This will be their first season in the second tier of US football following their switch from t...

Classic no more, Challenge no more

Initially I thought these names were utterly appalling but I've grown to quite like them... just in time for the K-League to do away with them from 2018. Supposedly the new official names for the two divisions will be K League 1 and K League 2 . Very sensible but at the same time very disappointing...

Re: 2018 K3 League

Looks like Yeosu are setting up a K3 side for this season, Yeosu Sejong FC is the name I've heard for the new club.

2018 K3 League

Looks like we've got at least one new club for 2018, though it's not all that 'new' as it essentially replaces the K-League Basic club that was wound up at the end of 2016. From a quick search on Google, the year 940 was the first recorded time in history when the city was known as Chungju, I don't ...

Re: Europe general 2017/18

Coincidentally I might be going to see Mark McGhee's Barnet on New Year's Day. I've not been to their new ground, the Hive, which is quite a way from the Borough of Barnet in Harrow. I know McGhee is held in high regard round these parts and we used to have a couple of Barnet fans on the board. Hiy...

Re: 2002 - ten years on

Hyun Young-min has decided to hang up his boots and retire from the game after finishing the 2017 season with Jeonnam Dragons. He was the last member of the 2002 World Cup squad still playing so with him now having announced his retirement then they're all now finished playing.

Re: 2018 AFC Champions League

Despite the AFC's best efforts to engineer a West Asian winner of the tournament, Al Saad's controversial 2011 run to the title is still the only win by a West Asian side since Al Ittihad defended their crown in 2005..

Kim was involved in a car accident towards the end of November.. initially he felt okay afterwards but a few days later had lost feeling in his legs so went to hospital and had surgery. There is considerable nerve damage and disc ruptures that may take years to recuperate from with no guarantee of a...

Re: 2017 Korean FA Cup Rounds 3 & 4

Never liked Busan, think it extremely amusing they've lost out in the promotion playoff final and also the FA Cup final in the space of a week. Not quite May 1986 Heart of Midlothian levels of hilarity but still good nonetheless...
