Re: World Cup 2018

Make things difficult for themselves after the first two games, go in to the third knowing exactly what needs to happen in order to qualify, do exactly what is required but then find out the other result has not gone their way and they're out after all. A very typically Scottish way of exiting an in...

Re: 2018 N-league season

I thought everyone had all but given up on the National League, but I love the fact that Gimhae have gone to the trouble of signing not one but two foreign players. They've of course gone for strikers, and one (Romulo Carvalho De Jesus, signed from the amusingly named Bangu FC) has rather predictabl...

Re: 2018 N-league season

Anyone attended my favourite ever football tournament out in the weird and wonderful village of Yanggu this year? The National League Cup has reached it's climax with the semi-finals having taken place yesterday and the glorious Tuesday afternoon champion decider has been confirmed. It'll be Daejeon...

Re: Suwon Bluewings 2018

Comfortably the second best.

It's coming up on ten years since the Bluewings last won the K-League. Eujin did warn off those of us that were hounding Cha out of the club at the time... dare we say he was right after all?

Re: 2018 K League 1

Jorn Andersen certainly likes his Korean football challenges.. not content with wrestling with the task of improving the North Korean national team (and not really succeeding), he's now decided to have a go at saving Incheon United from a seemingly inevitable relegation. Its going to happen at some ...

Re: 2018 K3 League

Fuck me, I should check in on this place more often. It's been a while.

Not as long as Seoul United's last win though. They beat Pyeongchang 5-3 on Saturday, their previous league victory had come a whopping 694 days prior to that

Re: K-League in the IFFHS

Good thing the Saudi FA are sending absolutely every single person who has ever kicked a football in that country over to Spain this year as the K-League is in serious danger of being deposed as Asia's best league in the IFFHS world league rankings. Just one place and 2.5 points separate the two lea...

Re: I'm turning into my mum

I like it.. it incentivises losing just enough games not to be successful but at the same time winning the bare minimum to avoid total embarrassment. This is exactly what Scottish football has been looking for.

Re: After the K-League...

Niall McGinn back to his best after his Korean (mis)adventure... in almost any other game his goal yesterday (Aberdeen's third) would have been the absolute standout highlight but for the howitzer of a second from Scott McKenna.

Re: After the K-League...

I thought his spell at the Ferrets may have killed his managerial career but no, Martin Rennie has managed to find himself gainful employment with Indianapolis-based United Soccer League side Indy Eleven. This will be their first season in the second tier of US football following their switch from t...

Classic no more, Challenge no more

Initially I thought these names were utterly appalling but I've grown to quite like them... just in time for the K-League to do away with them from 2018. Supposedly the new official names for the two divisions will be K League 1 and K League 2 . Very sensible but at the same time very disappointing...

Re: 2018 K3 League

Looks like Yeosu are setting up a K3 side for this season, Yeosu Sejong FC is the name I've heard for the new club.

2018 K3 League

Looks like we've got at least one new club for 2018, though it's not all that 'new' as it essentially replaces the K-League Basic club that was wound up at the end of 2016. From a quick search on Google, the year 940 was the first recorded time in history when the city was known as Chungju, I don't ...
