Re: 2009 kit thread

Lots of orange this season. Is orange the big new color in Korea this year? Ugh.
Anyone know if Ulsan has released their new kits yet?

Re: Ansan OB Rovers

I think given the current economic climate we should be able to pick up a football team for about 50 quid. Time to resurrect the OB Rovers. Loads of unemployed dancers looking for work too. Brilliant! Now once the team is up and running, do they want to play any games here in the states? If so will...

Re: K-League stadiums

Munsu in Ulsan was always nice, never felt like there was a bad seat in the place. (Then again I rarely sat in the upper level.) Seoul WC stadium was pretty nice too, Busan's massive stadium was ok. I never cared much for the places with tracks around them. I know, I know they are multi-purpose stad...

Re: How to improve the domestic league for Korea

Seems like we see this thread or one like it every year around this time, (or when the K-League is slow for news.) There are a lot of problems, with the league. For me it's always been the amount of apathy, or dis-interest shown by the local communities, in the local sports teams. I know it isn't id...

Yeah...this isn't going to be good for the League. Why the hell do they need a second team in Seoul? Aren't there enough teams in the area around Seoul, and last I heard FC Sold weren't that good. Pulling another team away from it's home, and the supporters who have been there from the beginning is ...

njs, I credited you for putting me in my place. I understand, school, work, girlfriend, none of those are good reasons not to follow the squad. ;) I agree it seems a little odd that Suwon and Seongnam would both have so much time off. I can understand giving the top team a bye past the first round, ...

HJ Are they down to the final four teams then in the K-League? If so who are they and did Ulsan make it. I know they finished in the playoffs, but haven't heard any more than that. Going to school and working full time are killing my free time and I don't get to follow my squad nearly as close as I ...

Agreed. There is a part of me that is very scared of the whole Beckham deal here in the U.S. It reeks somewhat of the old NASL days. The major factor in Becks going to L.A. is his and his missus' desire to be pop icons were else better to do that but in Hollywerid. One would hope that the MLS would ...

Easy now...Ulsan has plenty of time to come back and take the league. Wish I was back in the Dirty Old Town sometimes...just so I could go to the games. Ah the smell of OB in the evening and packaged dry squid. Good times...good times. I don't find much packaged dry squid back home here in Minnesota.

HJ what is the word on our beloved Rovers? You need to bump that thread back up near the top so we can discuss the team's U.S. Tour to play against USL - 1 teams here in the states. I know the cut to see which members of the squad that come over here will be tough...the squad of traveling dancing di...

Ulsan Univ. has a decent team this year or is it just luck? I don't ever remember hearing much about them back when I was living there...but then again they didn't advertise the Tigers' matches much either. I guess somethings don't change around there do they?

Is Avispa Fukuoka really that bad? I made the trip over to Fukuoka a couple of times while teaching in Ulsan. I didn't time it right to see any of their matches. I did manage to find the stadium and wander out into the middle of it though. ;)

I can see the Mipo Dockyard team and the Ansan teams going up. Both have been in the N-League now for some time and are pretty stable. Plus as I've always stated, I would love to see a Mipo v. Tigers Ulsan City Derby. Don't know who I'd cheer for, but I'd love to see it.

By the looks of the score line (0-0) I'm going to guess Ulsan rested it's big name players and put some of the young guys out there to take a run at it. Stunning attendence for all the matches as well. :? Not much changes when it comes to the Hauzen Cup. does it? HJ, I might have asked this but don'...

Thanks HJ. I'm guessing they aren't going on sale until Feb 2 which is why I can't access the shopping site.

Let me know if you see it open up. As I stated before my Korean is shite so hopefully they have some English support. Otherwise I'll be asking for your help again. Thanks.
