Re: World Cup 2018

Wow, that's the kind of comprehensive post that you normally only see on here about buses or K3 goalkeepers' weight problems. I thought I knew everything about the World Cup, but had no idea Brazil used to play in white and wouldn't have been able to name the East German goalscorer in the 1974 World...

Re: 2018 K3 League

Another week, another horsing for Uijeongbu who managed to lose 11-0 to Paju today. That currently makes them the worst team in Korea. However I was watching the 2nd worst this week. I caught the train up to Chungju today to see Chungju FC v Goyang. The drum bashing Magpie Ultra was there (of course...

Re: 2018 K3 League

Can't really fault either of the keepers for the eight goals. There isn't a lot you can do when the opposition thread or dribble the ball through the defence line almost at will. One thing that the big lad has that the first keeper didn't is a voice like a foghorn, maybe that's why they brought him ...

Re: 2018 K3 League

I’m deep in Cabbage Country just now. Just finished watched Buyeo beat Uijeonbu 8-2. The big lad pictured above came on after 35 minutes when Euijeonbu had just lost their fifth goal.

That’s three wins out of three for Buyeo, and they do look a bit advanced for the Basic League.

Re: 2018 N-league season

Pathos FC would be a more worthy winner of the N-league.

Re: 2018 N-league season

That's all very well for construction companies, but what about the garden furniture industry? I have enough trouble getting people to understand where Scotland is, I'm not going to try and explain that I'm from a country that Google translates as "arrogant." Been back for a month and afte...

2018 N-league season

Four weeks in, and no thread for the N-league this season? As the cherry blossoms battle it out with the snow, Gimhae and Gyeongju lead the way with four wins out of four. Daejeon Korail six points behind them in third and Gangneung yet to pick up a point this season. I've no idea if this will be th...

75 in Korean age, but 73 in Western age. The Guardian is never wrong.

Re: Where them teams be on this here map?

I like Daejeon Citizen in the K1, but I think you need more than two question marks for that! Now that all that Olympic nonsense is over, Gangwon FC are going to be at Chuncheon all this season. Both Daejeon teams are at the World Cup stadium at the moment, although Korail will move back to Hanbat l...

Thank you, I'm looking forward to seeing what the Guardian has in store for us next year. Hopefully some tales from Cabbage Country. :0)

Rooney’s perfect striking partner?

Interesting article in the Sunday Guardian newspaper today. Nice to see Korean football getting some more international exposure. http://www.theguardian.com/uk/sport/ If you’re old enough, You’re good enough It’s one of the oldest cliches in modern football, the goal scoring grandmother. Messi scori...

Re: 2018 Korean FA Cup Rounds 1 & 2

Ahhh, it's Yeoju Sejong, not Yeosu Sejong. I've been on a few false trails before to lower league grounds, but that would have been the granddaddy of them all!

Re: World Cup 2018

Less than 100 Days to go? No wonder people are already panicking about injuries to Neymar, Kane and others.

Hopefully Harry Kane makes a full recovery in time for the tournament, if only so that I can spend the entire month calling England ‘that Harry Kane country’

Re: Winter Olympics

Wow, that pole sitting really is competitive. The guy at the end has even brought along his guitar to encourage the other participants to give up.

"And now here's another song by Celine Dion..."

I wouldn't last five minutes.

Re: 2018 K3 League

No sign of fixtures yet, but the teams and grounds are up on the website. Pyeongtaek did get promoted, and Chungju are sensibly going to be playing in the sports park rather than the big stadium so that's another new place for the 48 club.
