Re: Europe general 2017/18

Netherlands into the semis and Denmark upsetting Germany to join them. Thank goodness we don't have a prediction league running this year!

Re: Europe general 2017/18

I agree the fact that football has moved away from local players to teams made up of the best players from around the country, and the world is definitely a big factor. It's not so much the money, it's that if you play for Bayern Munich, Barcelona or PSG then you are going to win things and you've g...

Re: Europe general 2017/18

Nah, still not buying it that Champions League football is the cause of all this. France isn't an outlier at all. Randomly going through Wikipedia pages shows England has had four different winners in the last five years. Spain have had three. Romania three, Norway three. Admittedly Portugal has had...

Re: Europe general 2017/18

I don't think you can entirely blame the Champions league, you get spells like that in football. A quick flick through the Wikipedia pages of the various countries shows - Ludogorets may have won the last five Bulgarian titles but Levksi and CSKA Sofia have split the vast majority of the previous 70...

Re: European groundhopping thread

Some nutter in the Guardian: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/jul/06/football-matt-walker-55-nation-uefa-adventure I'm off to Deventer on Monday in the Netherlands. One of my favourite grounds. Brilliant idea for a year off. I'm pretty jealous, but I have been to Gori (Stalin's hometown), ...

Looks like the article has "disappeared". This conspiracy runs deep.

Re: Europe general 2017/18

Don't worry, we're all just waiting for the next Scottish team to get knocked out so we can all laugh at them. When is the Aberdeen game?

Re: 2017 K3 League Advanced (D4) season

Of course there is no such thing as an unlucky season. But there are conspiracies at work. Just look at how I was regularly cheated out of prediction league trophies, year after year. Disgraceful. Clearly there are duck fetishists among the top brass in K3 towers. And while we are on conspiracy theo...

Re: Europe general 2017/18

Rule Britannia!

Don't worry, we have our big guns entering in the next round and Aberdeen and Celtic always sweep aside teams from Latvia, Slovakia, Czechia and Gibraltar.

Re: 2017 summer transfers

If in his first interview he reveals how much he knows about buses, half time entertainment, unusual club nicknames and defunct K3 teams then we will know he has been on here. Especially when he declares his love for the fish cakes. If he knows how the K league top division is going this season and ...

Re: Europe general 2017/18

It's brilliant. Just when you think Rangers have got back to a reasonable level, they show they still have the ability to make the rest of Scottish football piss themselves laughing at them. Not sure if this beats the time they blew a 2-0 lead against Alloa to lose 3-2, but it's up there.

Re: When will Stielike get sacked?

I'd agree with going for Choi Kang-hee if it was definitely for two qualifiers, but there's a decent chance they might find themselves in the playoffs if they can't take care of Uzbekistan in the last game and so it would go on for another two games in October and maybe another two in November. What...

Who knows what happens in a death match. A bit of googling leads to a story of communists and nazis so already we are off to a cheerful beginning.

You wait around 51 years and then two World Cup wins turn up in a week.
