Re: 2018 K League 1

Gangwon FC have snuck into the top half of the K1 table.

I noticed that their manager, Song Kyung-seop / Song Gyeong-seob / 송경섭 only ever played two professional matches during his playing career! I wonder if there's ever been a K-League manager to play fewer top-flight matches than that.

Re: 2018 K League 1

Quite the turnaround happening at Daegu. After only picking up one win in their first 13 games this season, Daegu are now four games undefeated, including two wins in their last two matches. They've leapfrogged Incheon and now have Jeonnam looking nervously over their shoulder. Let the next foreign ...

Re: 2018 K League 1

Incheon not doing much better, then.

Meanwhile, Gyeongnam are second-top(!), at least for the next 10 hours. What a crazy world we live in.

Re: 2018 K League 2

I see that Busan have brought in a couple of Dutch players from Netherlands' second division (Eerste Divisie), as well as three Brazilians, including one of Italian descent. Didn't see any of the Euro fellows feature in Busan's most recent match. Any idea what's going on there?

Re: World Cup 2018

While I generally agree, he didn't need his right arm raised to use his body to get in the way of the ball. Blatant hand ball in my books. He'd need his left (lower) arm out for something to land on, but he could have tucked in his right arm, no?

Re: World Cup 2026

Interesting. I thought the deadline had already passed for provinces to agree to pay costs. Perhaps the British Columbian government was quick with their refusal.

Re: World Cup 2026

My home city of Vancouver won't be a host city, as they gave the finger to FIFA's demands of a blank cheque. Good on them, I say. Canada hosted the Women's World Cup all on its own in 2015, but I don't see much legacy from the expensive, one-month circus. Still no professional women's teams; hell, ...
