Re: After the K-League...

And... he's off again. Cureton has left Southern League Premier Division (level 7) club Farnborough to play for... Southern League Premier Division club Bishop's Stortford, apparently his 18th career club . Sounds like Farnborough wasn't able/willing to continue paying his travel expenses (driving ...

Re: 2018 K3 League

Down in the Basic, Siheung lost. A win would have given them the title. A single point from their remaining two games would be enough, but Paju and Chungju are both mathematically still in it. Interestingly, both Paju and Chungju have scored more goals than leaders Siheung. Looks like there's now a ...

Re: 2018 K League 2

After losing nine matches in a row and firing their manager, Ansan have now won three games on the trot and have climbed up to eighth.

Clearly what's missing in the K League is the managerial merry-go-round!

Re: 2018 K League 1

It wouldn't be a K1 match day without all three basement clubs picking up points.

Daegu won away to Seoul... imagine saying that just last season. Daegu are away to Sangju Sangmu in a six-pointer next weekend.

Re: More evidence that Korean football is ahead of the world

Funny. Are greedy clubs now regretting building monster stadiums?

I'm okay with including tickets sold in official attendance figures, but counting give-aways in which people don't turn up seems daft.

Re: 2018 K3 League

Pocheon slipped up in the Advanced, allowing Gyeongju to pull further ahead at the top.

Re: 2018 K League 1

What an odd weekend: the bottom-three all won.

Sangju 1-2 Jeonnam
Incheon 3-2 Ulsan (!)
Daegu 4-2 Suwon (!)

Daegu have now overtaken Sangju on goal difference.

At the top of the table, Gyeongnam lost 3-0 at home against Jeonbuk, creating a 14-point gap between the two sides.

Biggest upset in the top five divisions this weekend:

Anyang (second-bottom) 3-0 Asan (first-place)

Re: 2018 K3 League

The KFA has updated their website, so the URL for the K3 has changed . Much better for getting K3 scorelines and now offers match stats (scorers, subs, etc.), although I still haven't worked out where the website is keeping league tables. Basic No surprises this week. Second-place Paju beat fifth-pl...

Re: 2018 K3 League

Basic: Second-place Chungju lost 3-0 (away to Yeoju) and have been leapfrogged by Paju for the second automatic-promotion spot on goal difference. Looks like Siheung may coast to the title, but the second auto-promotion spot and the playoff qualification race are still quite tight. Goyang also beat...

Re: 2018 K League 1

Incheon 3-1 Jeonnam

That's the purple POSCO party with a return to the bottom. Given that these clubs are as consistent as Andy Murray at Wimbledon, the relegation race should be interesting.

Re: 2018 K League 1

The weather finally cools down and players can't stop scoring.

Jeonnam 6-4 Suwon
Gangwon 7-0 Incheon

So that's Jeonnam off the bottom. Bit of egg on the face of Incheon's Norwegian manager!

Re: 2018 K3 League

Are Seoul Utd still "owned by fans" or whatever? Their Wikipedia page says they reformed as a co-op in 2013 in an attempt to join the K League Challenge (now K League 2). I'm not sure if they still collect money from fans, although their shirts still feature the "fans come first"...

Re: 2018 K3 League

Basic: Eujin's spurious shot at Seoul United motivated them to win only their second match of the season. Rotten luck for them, though, as basement club Uijeongbu also pick up their second win of the year. No relegation from Basic yet, but it's becoming an interesting little four-way race at the bo...
